Augh, crap! Macheads on my flist, questions. 1) My Macbook Pro's fan has been VERY LOUD and constant for a while now. Anyone know any possible causes for this? 2) The laptop has twice now overheated a charger to the point where it stops functioning. Once the charger cools down, it works again, but um - NOT OKAY.

I don't want anything to be wrong with my baby!! :( :( :(

Ack! It might just be really dirty? Mine had insane amounts of dirt and dust in it when a tech guy took it apart. Genius bar time!

The cooling system needs a cleaning, most likely! I know mine does. /o\

Either you need a cleaning, OR you've got a CD in the drive. If you have a CD or DVD in the computer, it spins it every so often, which can cause LOUD NOISES and overheating. (Even if you're not using it.)

I would say probably a dust problem. I've dealt with that before. I can't speak for Macs, but for me all it took was shutting the computer down completely and blowing compressed air into the vents. That got rid of the dust and the fan was fine after that.

Do you have enough space on your hard drive? My old mac used to overheat a lot because I had it too full of pics and vids (Macs classify too full as having under 25 gigs of space left free). Other than that, probably dust!
