I won't complain about work today, because - it wasn't a good day. I mean, it was, in some parts. But whatever!

i love the 100! it's bleak and depressing as hell and the end of s2 made me go "...whut?" but i can't wait for it to come back. ditto agent carter. (the not being able to wait for it to come back, not the bleak and depressing. agent carter is a much happier show, peggy's steve angst notwithstanding.) i'm not sure how i feel about haven, other than duke never gets enough love and i'm glad it looks like audrey and nathan have other emotions besides "i love you so much you're my whole life".

in any case, i am prepared to flail!

It's definitely pretty bleak but... not in the way that turns me off. There's a LOT of bleak television out there, antiheroes and whatnot, but even though lots of bad shit happens on The 100, theres still a core of love and loyalty. The darkness comes from what are you willing to do for that love? Are there any good guys? Deep stuff. And I love it so much. I love all the varied and wonderful lady characters, especially Raven and Octavia. And Clarke is such a fascinating lead - very much a new Buffy (which makes me a happy gal).

Gah, HAVEN. You know, all I've wanted for a long time is for them to go whole hog on the obvious OT3 thing they've got going on. Nathan and Duke have finally gotten to a place where they hug each other fiercely in relief every time one of them was in danger (do I cry every time? you can't prove anything). And it's canon that both of them love Audrey. So...... *waves hands around* IT'S SO OBVIOUS! And the mythology has been interesting sometimes, overly convoluted in others, but I am wholly there for the characters (and they've had some truly spectacular episodes, like Audrey Parker's Day Off). I'm a bit sad it's ending but like you said, my darling Duke doesn't get enough love, and it's probably time. I'll just go find OT3 fic. :)

Glad to know someone else watches these two! They're a couple of my quiet faves that I don't share with many people.

one of the best things about the 100 is that so much of the bleak comes from the choices people have to make. (especially clarke. poor clarke.) i mean, something happens and you have two or three options, and they're all bad options, and you have to pick the least terrible one. and yeah, a lot of it is because of circumstances beyond people's control, but the way the ptb are willing to go some pretty dark places - clarke irradiating everyone in mount weather? including the occasional genuinely decent person? and a bunch of kids? to save her own people? dark as hell! - and not brush off the consequences is pretty fantastic. and there are so many female characters with agency and power and skills and different wants and needs and motivations, and the show takes them all seriously! it's just... dark. even with the love and loyalty and occasional glimmer of hope.

audrey parker's day off is one of my favorite episodes. the various ways duke and nathan react to chris brody and his trouble crack me up. and in the "this is the day that duke dies" segment, he and nathan obviously want to say "i love you" to each other, but can't, but don't have to. there seemed to be a lot more ot3-ish emotions in earlier seasons - they all very obviously cared about each other - and then nathan just had eyes for audrey, and now audrey just has eyes for nathan, and i'm like, "but you both love duke too! what's wrong with you?" *sigh* i've read approximately one haven fic, which happens to be non-explicit and very cute ot3 - an open secret, by alethia.

HAVEN FIC RECS! HAVEN FIC RECS ABOUT FLUFFY OT3! Oh I'm so happy I came back to LJ :DDD Now more people need to do it!!

Yes they've moved depressingly away from the three-way love-fest way too much for my tastes. :( I mean, COLORADO! There was makeouts! On a bed! Did they forget about that?! Because I certainly haven't! Poor Duke has gone through so much. At least he had Jennifer, who I actually thought was really lovely and I was happy he was happy, even if it wasn't in the OT3 (which, let's face it, would never happen on SyFy).

I've read at least 3 or 4 OT3 fics, some explicit, but I have no idea if I've bookmarked them at all. Let me know if you want me to search for them!

oh man, colorado. i may or may not have yelled "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU??" when audrey opted not to sleep with duke. >.< just, AUDREY. WHAT THE HELL. YOU WANTED TO. HE WANTED TO. YOU SHOULD HAVE.

sigh.

if you can find a nice ot3 fic, i'd certainly take a rec. :D i've only read the one.
