I have been tagged by [livejournal.com profile] iamtinkerbean! To list my top ten favorite movies of all time. You know this is one of those things where later you're like DAMMIT, how could I forget that one?! But I shall do it anyway :D

In no particular order...
My Top Ten Movies
1. Serenity
2. Boondock Saints
3. Moulin Rouge
4. Velvet Goldmine
5. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
6. Titanic (this has to be up here simply because I've seen it so many times. It has a special place in my heart, okay? :P)
7. The Princess Bride
8. Lord of the Rings trilogy
9. It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World (fanfuckingtastic film)
10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The only two films on this list rooted in reality are Titanic and Mad(x4) World. I guess that says something about my tastes, eh? :) This was pretty hard. Revenge of the Sith almost made it up there, but I had to be honest with myself and say I don't like the movie so much as omganiandobi. Yeah. Kinda makes me want to watch Titanic again, hee ^_^

In other news, I watched 6 episodes (7 if you count Serenity as two) of Firefly tonight with my friend Jake! He's a film buff who didn't want to see Serenity, but I convinced him to and he LOVED it. Saw it twice and now owns it :D So of course he wanted to see Firefly! We're gonna finish the series later this week. Watching the whole show again is just so fantastic, especially hearing his reactions. It's great. I LOVE THIS SHOW.

Hey, while I'm at it (and while I'm procrastinating on sleep) why not do another meme - my top ten favorite TV shows!

1. Firefly
2. Buffy
3. X-Files
4. Lost
5. Law and Order: SVU
6. Veronica Mars
7. Gilmore Girls
8. CSI (Las Vegas)
9. Queer as Folk US
10. Alias

Hey, these top ten lists are fun!

Top Ten characters from TV or Movies (if I left in books there would be far too many)

1. RiverandSimon Tam (yes they are one person, shush)
2. Hermione Granger
3. Faith
4. Brian Kinney
5. MurphyandConnor MacManus (shush)
6. Malcolm Reynolds
7. Fox Mulder
8. Gil Grissom
9. Sirius Black
10. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Top Ten Books (or book series)

1. His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
2. The Sarantine Mosaic (two books) by Guy Gavriel Kay
3. The Talent Series (Rowan through Lyon's Pride) by Anne Mccaffrey
4. Bel canto by Anne Patchett
5. Wheel of Time series (at least up through book 7) by Robert Jordan

Um, all fantasy series, pretty much. Yep. Again, we all know where my tastes lie :P

Now I will go to sleep. I promise.

just wondering, do you like A Song of Ice and Fire series and The Sword of Shannara books? or Neil Gaiman? i love fantasy too, and i haven't read a lot of the ones you put up there but i will definitely put them on my list! (my best friend has been nagging me to read philip pullman since middle school). happy new year!

You know, I read most of A Song of Ice and Fire, but for some reason I feel like I stopped at some point. I did enjoy it a lot though... I think it might have just gotten a bit too dark and dense for me. I really want to read the new one that's out though, so I dunno what I'm gonna do... maybe reread them.

As for Shannara, I tried the first one, got through a few chapters and couldn't get going. It felt like a bad parody of Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time blended together. Bleh, lol. Sorry if you like it, but that's just what I felt.

You should definitely read Pullman! What a beautiful series.

Lovely choices! And strangely enough, I have never heard of It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. I must go check that out.

Oh, and let me say that it is fantastic to find someone who loves the X-files. That show, just, OH how I love it!

Thanks! It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World is an old movie, but somehow I randomly discovered it when I was a kid and I would rent it from the library ALL the time. It's sooo hilarious. The recent movie Rat Race was a remake of it, basically, but I heard that sucked, while this movie does not! All star comedy cast. Definitely check it out :)

Oh X-Files, how I adore thee! (Addendum to hot guy attack - Mulder! ;))

I love how devoted he is and how he know absolutely everything!

He's really just such a cool guy - and then also so messed up, which makes him fascinating. You know I stuck with the show because of Mulder and Scully, right? Hee ^_^

Well, of course! What is a TV show, if not for the story built completely around the main characters?
It really was good, though. And yeah, Mulder is steamy... And Scully, just gorgeous!

Hey, I heard that Wheel of Time book 11 (the most recent installation) is pretty good. Things actually happen. Myself, I have not read past book nine. Started to read 10, but got incredibly bored after about the seventh retelling of the exact same event in a different point of view.

Yeah I've heard that myself. It's been a while since I read any of them, so I don't know how well I'd be able to follow what's going on, since there are so many plotlines. My plan (whether I'll actually do this is questionable) is to reread the whole series once it's complete (since 12 is supposed to be the last one). I do love the first ones oh so very much, I'd love to relive them.

Your list is great although I have to say that I'm another one that hasn't seen Mad Mad Mad Mad World. I haven't seen Serenity (or Firefly) yet and I really want to but I'm pretty sure that when I do I'm going to be sucked into another fandom. It's funny that 7 of your favorite shows would make it on my top 10 list too! Lost and Gilmore Girls are the only two I really keep up with anymore though. I never have the time to see the others.

Mad World is an obscure film, I think. It's just a favorite from my childhood that I have a soft spot for. It's so damn funny! ^_^

You should totally see Serenity and Firefly :D New fandoms are fun!! It's just.... so great. Ack. So much love.

It seems like I tend to be into popular TV shows in general, so it's not really all that surprising ^_^ Lost I watch religiously. GG is during choir, so I either have a friend tape it or download the torrents. I caught up with VM finally but I have to download that too because it's on at the same time as Lost! >.< I really try to catch SVU and csi when I can, but it's okay when I forget or jjust can't because the stories aren't linear. Ummm... yeah, so that's my TV habits, haha.

I have to download both Gilmore Girls and Lost to my computer because I'm always working when both are on. I figure my computer would revolt if I tried to download everything I'm behind on.

I just move Firefly and Serenity up on my Netflix cue. Time to give in!

Haha, that's awesome! :D Ya know, it's my theory that if people were asked to list all their fandoms, and I mean people who are into fandom stuff, there wouldn't be very many identical lists. But of course many would be similar ^_^
