So I've seen two movies purely for my boys' sake, and they were both WEIRD. Thoughts:

"Six Ways to Sunday"
WEIRD! Weeeeeeeird. Deborah Harry was great but really really creepy as the mother trying to sleep with her son. Yuck! Their whole relationship gave me the shivers, but not in an "omg I have to shut this off" way... more like a "wow, that's messed up, I wonder how he's going to react!" way. It was very intriguing. Harry (Norman) was, predictably, rather fucked up due to this upbringing, and I thought Norman did a really great job portraying that. He does the naive but subtly messed up boy so well, I just wanted to cuddle him! And he kept biting his lip, awwwwww. The plot was very easy to follow, which I appreciated. I thought the guy who played... um, Abie? Did a fantastic job. And Adrien Brody was in it, haha! That was amusing. There was plenty of blood but clearly I don't have a problem with that :P Overall, not really a movie I'll be watching again, but it was entertaining, and plenty of Norman to look at! The boy is quite talented :) The ending was exceedingly disturbing though, lol. Another thing, with Harry's alter ego, it was pretty obvious that's what he was at first, which was kind of disappointing, as I was sort of looking for a Fight club-ish treatment of that, where they at least try to get us to believe he's a real guy. I mean I did at first, kind of, but he wasn't integrated enough, so he felt out of place from the beginning, so I knew something was up. But clearly nothing can be Fight club, so that was unrealistic of me ^_^

Wow that was some really disjointed thinking.

"Shallow Grave"
This one was on TV, and I happened to see it in the Guide, yay. Ewan was ADORABLE, but crazy at the same time - I absolutely loved his hair! *pets the hair* *fondles the hair* Oh god someone stop me. Hee. Plus, Ewan in drag! *giggles* *ahem* Ummm, another disturbing movie! Blood and hacking up of bodies and nerdy accountants gone wild! I'm beginning to worry about myself, as these things do not bother me or give me nightmares at all :P My only concession to the gross out factor was to mute it when he was hammering the guy's teeth out *winces* Just... no. Um. The accountant guy, what's his name, ah, DAVID, looked really familiar, and I couldn't place him, and then I checked the info and it said it was chris eccleston (or something like that), and that rung another bell, and finally I put two and two together, and realized he played the ninth doctor on Doctor Who! I've only seen one episode with that doctor, so that's why it took me so long to place him. But I did! *proud* Um, yes. So basically, throughout the movie, I was like "Dude, you all could have just avoided ALL of this, you know that? If you had thought for even THREE seconds. clearly someone wants that money!" so I was a bit skeptical of the whole thing, but all the same I liked it! Again, probably won't be watching again, but still, entertaining. Yeah, still love Ewan :)

Off to either icon or watch some Boondock Saints! ^_^
