In one of the magazines I picked up at Borders, Gerard was asked to give five words to describe his bandmates. His answer was: passionate, fun, sweet, nerdy and talented. *sigh of love*

I drove through the birthplace of MCR today - Belleville, NJ. It's so... Jersey, completely typical of working-class Americana. It was a little surreal and a lot cool :)

I'm home! I made dinner with my daddy, and ate said delicious dinner, and am happy. Made the fam listen to MCR's live compilation from LOTMS in the car on the way home, and I think my dad really liked it. \o/

[livejournal.com profile] neverneverfic said something about last.fm that made me curious - when she made her account, it retroactively counted everything she'd played in her media player. I guess that's a new feature, because it didn't do that when I made my account. So to test that out, I started a new account and it was like, want us to count your history? And I was like, ooh, yes plz! The result is pretty nifty. On my old account, which has been counting plays since April, the top five looks like this:

MCR: 2,168
Panic!: 1,599
TAI...: 1,196
FOB: 1,086
Tom McRae: 603
TOTAL: 12,243

Now, on my brand new account, which includes all plays since last September, which is when I got this computer, the top five six look like this (including The Used, because I am amused that a band I downloaded two weeks ago is number six on my year+ list):

MCR: 3,243
FOB: 2,299
Panic!: 1,798
TAI...: 1,519
Bush: 874
The Used: 763
TOTAL: 29,092

Crazy! Apparently I listened to MCR a thousand times between December 06 (when I got TBP) and April! And I knew FOB was disastrously underrepresented. Oh, this also takes into account all my iPod plays, which last.fm often fails to scrobble. Last.fm is addictive, you guys. ♥

In other news, have Gee introducing the lead singer of The Bled - Frank takes off the guy's shirt for him, and then the guy hugs Gerard and kisses him on the cheek. !!!! *fans self*

OH HAI Panic! website was just updated!!! 01:01:08!!!!!

I just got the BEST early Christmas present EVER, omg.

My little sister didn't yet know that I was coming home for Xmas, so she had my present shipped to me. And and and it's a My Chemical Romance hoodie!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It's soft and warm and GORGEOUS. It's THIS ONE, which is absolutely the one I would have chosen because, I love you Gerard and company, I really do, but I don't really want to walk around with the word DEAD on my chest, or a nuclear mushroom cloud. Yaknow? This is dark but PRETTY, and I'm so in love with it. It fits me perrrrrfectly, not too big or too small, with sleeves that go right to the middle of my hands exactly as I like them. I'm NEVER TAKING IT OFF EVER.

If you're reading this, I LOVE YOU MEREDITH. Thank you!!! You are the best little sister EVER. *smish!*

So I mentioned to my dad on the phone that I was kind of dreading Christmas break, because it's gonna be about 2-3 weeks with nothing to do. I know myself, I'll go stir crazy. There's no one here that's all that important to me, no one that I'd want to spend this special time of year with.

So my dad immediately opened up Expedia and offered to fly me home for Christmas.

I think the fact that I started crying, and am having a hard time stopping, is probably a really really big sign that I should take him up on it.

It's not that expensive, not if I fly out pretty early, like a week before Christmas itself. Then I'd fly back the 26th, and fly to Cardiff the 27th to begin my trek across the UK.

He told me to think about it for a couple days, but I really don't think I can possibly say no. I miss my daddy.

I hadn't even allowed myself to consider this as a possibility, so I wasn't sad that I wasn't going home, merely resigned. That's because we had looked at flights much closer to Christmas, which are twice as expensive, and we just couldn't swing that. But now that it's a possibility I suddenly feel the need to be home with my family like an ache in my stomach, and hey I'm crying again.

Yeah. I'm going home for Christmas.

I find it hard to believe that there's a new reason to love the boys in this fandom EVERY DAMN DAY, and yet:

ADAM T. SISKA YOU STOP THAT RIGHT NOW. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BE THAT CUTE
"Right now I am off to the American Apparel store next to the venue, in hopes to replace my favorite hoodie (yellow with blue stripes) which was stolen from our dressing room during the final days of the Honda Civic Tour. A few days after the tour, I turned on the Today Show and saw someone wearing the hoodie... I will give you a hint, his name rhymes with PETE WENTZ."

OMG THE YELLOW STRIPED HOODIE OF LOOOOOVE! SEE ICON!!! I've seen those boys (AND GABE) in it, and wondered if it was the same one, and OMG. PETE STOLE IT! This is pretty much the best thing to happen, ever. UGH I LOVE THEM.

Have I mentioned how much it hurts my heart that I can't see them when they play in a tiny club in my college town?? *flails a little* *no a lot* *sigh*

I spent today organizing in preparation for packing! I put alllll my clothes out on my bed, organizing by type, to get a sense of how much I have and how much I'll have to leave behind. I also figured out what books I'm bringing, which magazine cut-outs (which, by the way, I uncovered the Fall Out Boy Rolling Stone issue that I had stashed away! I had never actually finished reading the article because when I got it I didn't much care, but NOW. OMG. THEM. Also, Pete being all obsessed with Jeanae (sp?) and asserting that he and Ashlee could never be a couple kind of cracked me up. If only you knew, dude! Joe wandering into a guitar shop and making a $4,500 impulse buy made me lol, Patrick is darling and humble but also a little intense, and Andy wants civilization to fall? They are quite the collection of guys, that's for sure) (wow that was a long parenthetical, where was I?) and which SHOES. I polished my HOTASS FAITH BOOTS, which I realize go AMAZINGLY with my new outfit and OMG I'm going to kick ass in it \o/

SGA S3 DVDs in two days!! Hurrah!! I'm v. v. excited, especially by the caps of David ogling Joe's ass that have been floating around. LOVE.

I'm still hacking up lungs. FAIL.

I got to see my godparents and their children today! We met them for a delicious buffet brunch, yum yum. I hadn't seen them in a while, and they're some of my favorite people in the world, so that was awesome.

Ummm lalala! Very tired, going to bed soon! Hope y'all have a good night!

I've made a big post of bandom icons over at [livejournal.com profile] shinyshapes, which you can find here, if anyone's interested! 95% Panic!, but there's some Gabe/William in there, and a few others.

I went shopping with my mom and sister today. I bought a hot outfit for hitting the pubs in Dublin - really dark jeans (short! they don't drag on the ground! :D) and a gorgeous blue and black top from Express. That one was a bit pricey, but I can never find "nice" tops that I don't hate myself in, so this was quite a find. My sister and I also dragged our mom into Hot Topic and were rewarded - I got a The Academy Is... tshirt on clearance, and she got a Panic! tshirt on clearance! Woo! The girl working there was awesome, I liked her a lot. Yay for successful shopping! \o/

Right now watching futbol with my brother... Real Madrid vs Villarreal. I love this game. I can't wait to be in a place where people are so passionate about it.

FOUR. DAYS. *flail*

I went wedding dress shopping with my mom this afternoon. It was pretty fun - she found a really nice one that looks beautiful on her, and it was on really good sale, so that was good. My sister and I also got our bridesmaid dresses - here's mine and hers is the little girl version. It's really beautiful, I like it a lot. My mom's going to hold red roses to match, while my sister and I hold white roses, and it'll be really pretty.

The best part of the dress shopping, however, was the radio station, which seemed to be tuned to "Bandom" - they played Arms Race, Teenagers, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, and Misery Business. It was AWESOME. My sister and I just laughed every time a new one came on and sang along happily \o/

I did that career meme, and number 1 was an oceanographer, lol, what? Most of my choices were engineers of some kind, though 8 was a chemist, so hurrah. 7 was a tailor though, which, wtf? Haha.

I LEAVE FOR DUBLIN IN FIVE DAYS. WHAT? WHAT? NO SERIOUSLY. *minorly panicking* I sort of started the packing nonsense. I tried out those vacuum packing bags, and they're not nearly as miraculous as the infomercial makes them out to be, lol. But still, they definitely make things a lot more manageable. I also had to figure out what DVDs I was bringing with me. I decided to take the TV seasons out of their boxes and put them in my big DVD booklet, which makes me sadfaced because the boxes are so pretty, AND they have the episode guides. Sigh. But they're too bulky so, you know. I ended up being able to fit most of the essential stuff in there, though I had to choose just one season of Angel and two of Buffy. My Atlantis DVDs are still with my cousins, who wanted to burn them, which just makes me sad in my face :( But I'll be buying S3 on Tuesday, HURRAH, so that will make up for it.

FIVE. DAYS. *flail*

(The biggest obstacle is leaving my father at the airport. I'm going to cry so hard, I know it, and I'll be in public too.)

Ahaha, I just got an email from LJ reminding me of my own birthday. Thanks LJ, I had totally forgotten! :P I'm going to have a lovely birthday this year, since I'm going to be up here with all my family and apparently there's going to be an Ireland themed party...? LOL. I am very excited. :)

I've finally gotten to try Guitar Hero (and GH2)! It's really really fun, but I don't think I'd ever get addicted. Good thing, since I don't own it. But it's certainly fun for the time being. There are a lot songs I only know because of my Supernatural fixation - Carry On Wayward Son, Surrender, Smoke on the Water, and a few others. :D I can totally imagine Dean getting obsessed with this game. Of course we know Brendon and Spencer already are! I can totally sympathize with Ryan's exasperation though *g* I know Sam would be ready to throw Dean out a WINDOW, haha.

So I've kind of, um, gotten my sister into Panic!. I know, god, I'm such a terrible influence! *g* But I'm having a lot of fun sharing my excitement with her, especially since I can't share it with so many of my friends, um. So that's nice.

Still having a great time with the cousins and aunts and uncles and various and sundry extended family. I love everyone up here so much, it's such a treat to come.

One month, three days until IRELAND!

More car drama. BIG drama this time.

MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY HOME! *holds head in hands* Actually, to be more accurate, I think my clutch finally had enough of my abuse and gave up the ghost. I'm still learning, and it really isn't pretty sometimes! So it decided to stop being able to accelerate and make loud grinding noises instead, so I had to pull over. I burst into hysterical sobs and called my dad, probably giving him a heart attack. I'm lucky I had Michelle there to calm me down or I would have completely fallen to pieces.

In short, police showed up, called a tow truck, my dad came to pick me up (luckily I was only a half hour from home instead of, say, four hours) and the truck took my car to a garage. In all the ordeal took about an hour or so. It was stressful, but the policeman was really funny and sweet, and I got to see my daddy. I'm rather wracked with guilt because I'm pretty sure I ruined my car, but hopefully (*crosses fingers*) it won't cost too much or take too long to fix.

Then we went to an AMAZING restaurant that was recommended to be my [livejournal.com profile] lyra_wing called The Melting Pot. OOOOOMG SO GOOD. Three courses of fondue: cheese, meat in oil, and chocolate. MMMMPH. It took 2 hours and... a lot of dollars, but it was *delicious* and wonderful and fun and went a long way to taking my mind off killing my car. We went for my daddy's birthday.

I'm glad to be home for spring break, it's nice. I miss my daddy and my sister when I'm at school. So, yay. I think today on the whole balances out.

And I have my shiny new SGA S2 DVDs! YAAAAY!

So my most exciting Christmas present (after a CAR, of course - my mom's giving me her old Subaru when she buys a new (used) Saab) was season 1 of Stargate Atlantis!!!! Thanks to my awesomesauce Daddy. I watched the first episode (the two-parter) this morning and omg. I am so head over heels for Sheppard, he's just so adorable! I also adore this Ford guy, whose name I had never even heard before, and McKay is totally squishable! Both of the girls kinda got on my nerves a little teeny bit, but that's okay. Mona! We have to bounce and squeal and flail! What season's airing now? Three?

Alas, I didn't get either S4 or 5 of Angel, so now I have to shell out the cash myself. Ah well. CAR.

Another fun present was a guide to travelling Ireland, since I'm going to be LIVING there for a year - reading it was so exciting, and made me go CAN I LEAVE NOW PLZ??? Hee :D

Also, Erin sent me "The Gun Seller" by Hugh Laurie, which looks fabulous! I didn't even know he wrote, but he is absolutely hilarious, and I can't wait to read it! THANK YOU SWEETIE! *huggles*

And NOW, ladies and gentleman, I am off to watch the LAST TWO EPISODES of Dexter season 1. And considering how much ya'll were flailing about 1x12, I'm super excited! Catch ya on the flip side!

Also, GIP - this picture NEEDED to be iconned, and I love how it came out. I'll make a non personalized version later!

Merry Christmas Eve, flist! I hope you have a great day cooking yummy sweet things and opening maybe some presents and seeing your families. And of course, have a lovely Christmas day!

We just had our first round of presents with my mom, cause we're with my dad for the actual day. I had asked to be educated in classic rock, and so of course all the relatives jumped at the chance and I got 9 (!!) CDs! Lessee...

The Allman Brothers Band - A Decade of Hits (listening right now - I love it!)
Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Led Zeppelin (first album, I believe)
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced and The Best of Jimi Hendrix
Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
The James Gang - Live at the Allen Theater, Cleveland
Neil Young - After the Gold Rush

I think it's unfortunate that I don't actually USE CDs anymore - I rip them to my computer and iPod - cause all the CDs and the inserts are so gorgeous! My mom wants to snag them after I'm done ripping them, haha. Yay for music!
