one more miracle

I got a little tired of the last header (as I always do) so I made a new one - this time with Sam, Dean (what, you thought I'd get rid of the boys?) and FAITH. Or really, Eliza, but we're pretending she's Faith in this context. I really liked the icon I made with almost the same pictures, so I decided to blow it up :) It's quite a bit darker than the last layout, but I tried to keep it as light as I could. I wanted so badly to use the gorgeous red from Dean's shirt somewhere in the color scheme, but with the green it just looked too Christmasy (damn Christmas for forever ruining that color combination for me! They go so well together, but I just can't use it! *headdesk*) so I settled for dark brown. I'm really happy with how it turned out! The header came out just as edgy and sexy and mysterious as I wanted it to. Woo!

The lyrics on the header are from the wonderful song Lover I Don't Have to Love by Bright Eyes

(On a side note, I'm getting kind of tired of this Flexi squares layout. I mean it's awesome and I love how I've customized it, but I think I'm ready for a change. However, I don't know how to begin going about that! I signed up for the_lj_reboot but I'm just... lost. Any very basic advice on how to BEGIN customizing all the general codes out there would be very welcome.)

So you've all probably heard about the new plans for the userinfo design. Basically, it looks like CRAP. Complete and utter crap. And it's functionality isn't improved at all! *sighs* Oh LJ, I do love you so, but why must you insist on messing on the things that are already fine, and ignoring the problems you do have?

txvoodoo has created a poll asking people how old they are, in an effort to show that LJ isn't just a teen hangout and that there should be no push to be more like MySpace (and that's something I can totally get behind - I may be a teen myself, but MySpace makes me want to GAG). So take the poll HERE, especially if you're of the relatively older (25 and up) set! Alright, you knew it was coming... layout change! To... you guessed it... Kara and Lee! I didn't bother to make a header myself this time, because I found this stunningly beautiful and really fun one by aliice, I just LOVE it. The pictures, the colors, the text - I adore it to bits!! It made the coloring of the layout SO much fun. Pink, orange, and turquoise! Whee! I also updated the sidebar a bit.

Why does Supernatural fic always make me tear up? Whether it's angsty, sweet, sexy, thoughtful, a bit violent.... there's almost always tears involved (on my part). It's just always so intense. I've spent the last few nights reading late into the night, and damn. I love this fandom. *squishes everyone*

In good news, I now have 105 userpics! Yay! I didn't think I'd have that many cause I've only had this paid account for around a year. Hm. Anyway, I'm not complaining! :) I like this loyalty userpics thing, it makes me happy. Moooore icons! Whee!

In even more good news, I'm making progress on my music vid! I've got over a minute done and I'm reasonably pleased with it. It's nothing fancy, but it's quiet and sweet and I'm just basically getting the hang of Premiere, and also all the little moments between the boys. Because even working with only 16 episodes is tough - I can't imagine vidding something as expansive as... Buffy! Well, uh, clearly that's a lie because I just did a BtVS vid, but I made sure I sharply limited myself, and I think I used source from 10 episodes, tops, for that, and all very specifically Faith stuff. So. Since I ripped specific moments, I *only* had those to work with. But in Premiere, I have these entire episodes that I can go through, and neep! It's intimidating! Fun, though :) And I am so in love with the song I'm vidding, it's just so beautiful.

In not so great news, I have more reading than I thought I would... I've made good progress in both reading assignments I've got, but I have *not* made good progress on the creative assignment for Experimental Fiction. The assignment is to write something "you wouldn't want someone to read" and by someone it means someone or a few someones specifically. So, say, a story you wouldn't want your mom to read, or your best friend, or your crush. You know. And I'm having a really hard time thinking of something. Sara suggested writing fanfic, and I did think about it, but I don't really have any ideas (again, this fandom covers everything!! Gosh) and anyway that'd be kinda embarassing. I'm leaning towards another idea she had, which is to look at *my* life as a TV show and then write fanfic for it. I seem to be leaning towards writing something I wouldn't want Sean to read, heh. He needs to get out of my head >.< So yeah, I have to get to work on that.

Our other assignment for EF was going to be our take-home midterm exam, which was supposed to be due a week from Friday, but then again she also told us she would email it to us a week and a half ago, and we still haven't gotten it. It's going to be ten pages worth of writing, so I *really* hope that she moves the due date. She's a bit scatterbrained sometimes :P

Hm, this post got longer than I intended. Oops! Off to bed :)
