Supernatural quote fun!

So I find it entertaining to find out what a massively obsessive dork I am by sitting down and listing quotes, as closely as I can remember them, from a show or movie that I love. I did it with VG a while back, gosh I love the words in that movie *happy sigh* And a few nights ago I sat in bed and did it with Supernatural! I thought it would be fun to share the list I came up with.

And to add a bit of fun to this, you guys can (if you want) guess the speaker and episode of any/all the quotes. Most are Sam and Dean, obviously, but there are some that aren't. I know a lot of them are so obvious it's silly, but when I was listing I was just coming up with quotes I knew really well. So, a lot of the ones in the previouslies are in there, lol. Anywho, have fun! :)

You know, as a general rule in life, it's always a good idea to not say negative things about people, especially when you don't know them.

I see you had a lot of opinions about me regarding my tongue-in-cheek blog post, "Supernatural is Supergay".

Let's review. First, you called me a "pompus ass". And what do you call you someone who bashes complete strangers on public blogs? I think you're the pompus ass, indeed.

Second, you said I'm just a casual viewer who hasn't been following the plot. If you would pay attention to details, you would see my post was written last November, when the show was still fairly new. A lot of the plot that's unfolded had not been shown when I wrote that. Further, I clarified in the article that I had just begun watching it.

Third, shortly after I wrote that post, there was an episode where they pretended to be a gay couple. I don't think my assumption was a stretch. They really do come off as a gay couple in many scenes.

Fourth, and finally, I think you spend a little too much time with the WB. The show is cheesy, don't get all bent out of shape. I don't know what age group you fall under, but if you expand your horizons a little, you will see that Supernatural is not nearly as well scripted as similar TV shows in its genre.

The acting and writing is a bit poor. You might not like hearing that, but you're not going to see Supernatural winning any awards. Having said all that, I do enjoy the show very much. I catch it every week. It's a nice bit of mystery, and I find it to be enjoyable.

So in closing, I hope you will be a bit more wise about making judgements on total strangers. If you were familiar with my blog, you would see that I write humorous posts about TV shows or life events all the time. They are all in fun, and not intended to be taken seriously.

First of all, I would like to apologize for calling you that. It was thoughtless and unkind of me, and far too over the top. It's not an excuse, but I was just a bit irked about some of the things you said.

I'd like to reiterate that I have no quarrel with your assertion that they seem like a gay couple. I just don't like that being separated from their status as brothers, because to me that is what makes the relationship, that they are brothers first and foremost, but what they have goes beyond that. I understand if that squicks you, but I just thought it cheapened what they have, a little bit, to say that they aren't actually brothers.

As for the WB, the only other show I watch on it is Gilmore Girls, and I think that's another good quality show (though not so much of late, but that's another story). I was not saying that Supernatural is a pinnacle of quality, and I certainly do not expect it to win any awards. I *know* what quality is - I am a huge fan of Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Battlestar Galactica, to name three genre shows of truly exemplary quality. I would never place Supernatural on the same level as them. But I would like to disagree about the acting comment - Jensen and Jared are pretty damn talented, and they're finally getting their chance to shine. Their acting has an emotional impact that brings me to tears pretty much every episode, because you just care about them so much. Without them, the show would fall on its face, I think. So I agree that while the show is barely above mediocre in most respects, Jared and Jensen bring it to a level that it wouldn't have reached otherwise.

Again, I am very sorry for what I said, and I appreciate your civil response to my comments. I hope my position is clarified somewhat for you.

I appreciate your response. I agree, they do portray a nice chemistry as brothers and there are episodes when I do get teary eyed...specifically the one where that religious cult was killing people and the heart attack...that was a big heavy and it did touch me.

Keeping in mind the intended humor, you have to remember that I am a gay man. And in reality, they are not brothers. So to me, I think they would make a very sexy couple. Because I am gay, that's clearly a compliment.

I won't debate any further about the quality. I think it's great that you enjoy the so much. Your feelings are your feelings, and it's good to have your own opinions. I respectfully disagree.

Ah, "in reality" introduces a whole new dimension. There you are venturing into Jensen/Jared, or Jsquared as we like to call it, which has a very large and comfortable niche in fandom. The two are entirely separate in my mind - Sam/Dean is incredibly angsty and filled with issues, while Jsquared is happy and hot and beautiful. I get the feeling you'd like Jsquared :) If you ever have a chance to watch an interview with them together, I suggest you do. They're great together.
