So I finally figured out my goddamn courses. It's not by any means perfect (8 AM!!! *dies*) but neither is it horrible. Here's what I'm taking.

Organic chemistry 1 ..............MWF 8-8:50, Lab F 12:30-4:20
BIO220: Principles of Physiology and Development..MWF 9-9:50, Lab Th 12:30-4:20
Africa - Idea/Place ......................MW 11-12:20
Studies in 20th century Literature................MW 2:30-3:50

So basically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are INSANE and I'm going to want to kill myself. But note that I have ZERO classes on Tuesday, so I can use that to fill a good chunk of my work hours, and I have nothing Thursday morning. So.... I think this is viable. I am going to curse the world every time I wake up at 7 AM, but besides that it's okay.

You may notice that I don't have that Language in cinema course - that's what was interfering with my ability to be a preceptor next semester. So I ditched that and I'm now confirmed to be a preceptor. Which pays $500 for the semester AND counts as a credit. How kickass is that? The class is Monday nights, which I didn't really mind last semester, so... it's all good.

That chem test still sucked though.

We had our first event of Hunger and Homelessness week tonight, a showing of the documentary Dark Days, and we had a really good turnout! I was so pleased - I was afraid we'd get like 5 people or something, but it was more like 20! Yay.

I've said all year that it's Biochemistry. I've been having some doubts lately, though. We'll see.

Ohhhhh. Yeah, I started out as a bio major my freshman year and the labs just killed me. I honestly can't stand labs. I love science, but it's not worth having my life sucked away.

But if you really enjoy it, go for it! Sometimes I wish I'd been able to stick with biology, but I'm also much happier now.

What did you switch to instead?

The thing is, I've always pictured myself becoming a scientist. It's just the personal vision I have for myself. I find it hard to imagine any other future. But I really enjoy English too, and Math to a certain degree - but where can those lead me, career-wise? I just... I really don't know :( I hate indecision.

Oh, you sound so much like me! I wanted to be a scientist ever since I first thought about a career. You know how little kids are all "I want to be a doctor!" or an astronaut or firefighter. I wanted to be an astronomer. At ten years old.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. I never in a million years thought I would change my major. And I certainly NEVER thought it would be Film and Media. But it's something I've found a real niche in. I get a lot of people asking "What are you going to do with that?" and I honestly don't know. But the media industry is huge. There's got to be something out there for me.

That sounds so cool, and there's a zillion things you could do out there with that! You go girl :)

Unfortunately I go to a little liberal arts school, so the choices are pretty limited and conventional. Hm.

Thanks! It is pretty cool. Who would've thought I'd be able to turn my love of movies into a career? :D

My school's liberal arts (and quite tiny), too, but it just so happened that F+M became a new major as of this year, instead of just theater. It's still so new, there are only like five of us!

Wow, that really confused me for a second, because the abbreviation for my school is F+M (Franklin and Marshall) so I was like... You go to my school?!?! Haha, that would have been really funny.

I wish my school would do that!

*loves on your HHr icon, btw*

Oh! Hehe. Yeah, I meant film and media. Although...Franklin and Marshall sounds so familiar for some reason. I think my uncle went there. I go to a very tiny school in the middle of nowhere called St. Mary's.

It's in Lancaster, PA. Most people haven't heard of it, but random people have. It's odd. It's a little Ivy League wannabe, is what it is.

Yeah, I'm almost positive one of my relatives went there. Anyway, I've been to Lancaster. It's like an hour from where I live (which is 3 from where I go to school).

Ahh, that's cool. Lancaster really isn't anything special, and it's actually pretty unsafe -_- Meh. Oh well.

But at least you live in a town. I live nowhere!
