Would you squeal about The Sentinel for a while? Gimme the basics? I've seen it mentioned a lot but I know nothing about it!

Love... it's a very simple meme... I ask you a question, you answer. You just reply with a comment and talk for a little bit. It doesn't have to be a dissertation.

white water rafting huh?!

Ok white water rafting huh....*thinks*...ok I got something...*darts out & comes back wearing a wetsuit, pfd, paddle, & brain bucket*...ok stop laughing, I need to get into character.
White water rafting requires the skill of a marksman, the guts of a bull rider, & the stupidity of someone like me! *grins* It doesn’t matter if you’ve rafted 100 rivers or none at all...all that matters is if you have the balls to face a screaming torrent of water that’s crashing down on your head.
Running a river is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done...it is better than anything else I have ever done!! Seriously....when you start approaching that wall of water, you think your heart is pretty much gonna explode; you don’t know if you should duck & take cover or bale & head for shore. I’ll tell you right now....DO NEITHER!! Once you’ve hit that wall & pretty much sailed over it (depending on how good your guide is) there is no greater feeling in the world...the best accomplishment you could possibly have...or in words that most would understand, it’s kinda like a multiple orgasm kinda feel!! *grins*....& yes I know I probably wasn't suppose to bable for this long, tuff, ya shouldn't have picked something I like so much!

You didn't babble long at all sweetie! But that's so cool that you're so excited about it. It sounds AMAZING, but I would probably wet myself! Have you ever read a book called Downriver? It was one of my favorite books as a kid, and it's about this group of teenagers who are going rafting down the Grand Canyon and they ditch their guide and go by themselves. So they have to manage it all on their own, and of course there's drama and betrayal and people getting thrown from boats and it's SO exciting. I would recommend you read it! :) But yeah, rafting is something I want to try at some point in my life!

Why do you love Halloween?

From: [identity profile] sacrilicious.livejournal.com
Ever since I was a little kid, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. I've been watching horror movies with my Mom since I was like six. I love all the food associated with Halloween/autumn, cider, pumpkin, all that delciousness. I love dressing up in wild costumes that you can't get away with on any other day. I love the color orange, so I have absurd amounts of decorations. I love being scared because it's just fun. My dream (fictional) places to live? Halloweentown in Nightmare Before Christmas or the village in Sleepy Hollow. I'm also Pagan, though I've been a bit of a slacker Pagan lately, so I love going to the Harvest and Samhain festivals.

I actually went to Michael's today to check out the first batch of Halloween stuff they got in, and I wound up buying a little owl wearing a witch hat. I seriously cannot get enough of that holiday.

Hee, that's cool :) The owl sounds adorable!

My friends once forced me to watched Halloween on, you guessed it, Halloween - I spent most of the movie with my face buried in my friend's (*coughcrushcough*) shoulder!

Oh, you MUST read Wasteland. It's an incestous book and gorgeous just like every other thing she's written.

She is my absolute FAVORITE author. *runs to grab some books*

Here are some quotes from my favorite books of hers, because the way she writes is like, too amazing for words.

Ectasia - The circus tent was glowing pale in the rain like a fleshy flower lit from within. It seemed to bloom in the downpour. Drops of rain caught on Rafe's eyelashes, blinding him as the circus lights struck them. He groped for the flap, that slit in the fabric that would reveal her to him.
She was on the rope again, her skirt flashing with tiny mirrors, hair braided with petals. He looked up at her, dizzy with it, seeing her face framed in the parasol. There were bluish shadows around her eyes.

Wasteland - When you were a baby I sat very still to hold you. I could see the veins through your skin like a map to inside you. I stopped breathing so you wouldn't...
You were just a boy on a bed in a room, like a kaleidoscope is a tube full of bits of broken glass. But the way I saw you was pieces refracting the light, shifting into an infinite universe of flowers and rainbows and insects and planets, magical dividing cells, pictures no one else knew...
Your whole life you can be told something is wrong and so you believe it.

Every page of her writing is like that. It's AMAZING. Definitely check it out. Ecstasia has a companion book, Primavera and I'd also recommend The Hanged Man and her erotica book Nymph.

WHEW. Okay, so, THAT WAS A LOT. :D

ps, her website

My stepmom brought home a witch hat today, because she works with little kids.

I've been wearing it all day. *g*
