ETA: Because I keep getting asked (to my utter befuddlement - WHY would you want to see it?) I won't point you to the wank. One, it's not focused in any one special place, and two, this is not funny, OMGYOUSUCKGODIEINHELL wank, this is calm statements that we are all stupid because we happen to see something in canon that this person/people do not see. I don't think that deserves to be perpetuated. Feel free to go looking yourself, but I'm not linking anything. Sorry.

*Hugs you* I will back you up on this because I've had people rant and rave about real person slash which has made me feel like shit (and I even suffered a panic attack because of it). I've finally just accepted what I like, and I realize that not everyone will agree with it, but it's my choice, innit? Seriously. It's really not necessary to lash out at other people. It's very much like the crazy people in religion who try cramming their beliefs down your throat because you don't necessarily believe [insert crazy idea here] (please note, I'm not singling out any one religion or calling everyone who believes in a specific religion crazy--most are awesome people just trying to live their lives).

My personal view is helped by the Beatles: if it's not hurting anyone...let it be. For serious. Everyone would just be happier if they could just disagree and let it be. I can understand if people think it's disrespectful and wrong and nasty...but honestly? Fandom isn't about disrespecting people. Fandom is about the love you have for something and expressing it through words/art/etc.

I guess that's all I have to say (this is a touchy subject for me), but yeah. Even though I'm not a Supernatural person, I am a damn proud member of fandom, and people just need to live and let live.
