LOST WON! YAY! I was so glad they did, because if they didn't, that would have been 3 pretty wasted hours. Ellen was funny, but the awards were mostly pretty boring. The highlight of the evening was S. Epatha Merkerson's speech, in which she lost her piece of paper down the front of her dress, so she was improvising and very very nervous and very very funny. It was highly amusing and entertaining.

But... LOST! :D I'm soooo glad they got that cause they totally deserve it. And apparently most of the main cast was there, if not all! Evangeline and Maggie looked gorgeous. And can I just say that I love Damon Lindelof? Hee.

So, yay.

Also, I am now registered to vote! I have my voter's card thingy and everything. That's kinda cool, even though I kinda really hate politics. Ah well. Now I'll be able to vote for the least idiotic candidates. That's something, at least.

Ummmm. I'm getting sick... have had a persistent minor sore throat for a couple days, and my head is feeling a little yucky. It's not very nice. And it's not like I can go home and relax... I AM home. There's nowhere else to go. One of the downsides of college, I suppose.

I spoke to my dad yesterday... he's not doing so great. It still hurts a lot, and he's going to be off of work for at least three more weeks. That's a whole month! >.< He really can't move around at all, so my brother's taking care of him. I wish I could be there to help :( He will be fine eventually though, so that's good.

Also spoke to my... gosh this is always complicated.... ex-assistant soccer coach, who was also a teacher at my school even though I didn't have him. He's young (25 ish), a recent Princeton alum, and GORGEOUS. And also the coolest guy ever, I love him. So he gave me a call (responding to a message I left like... a week ago :P) and so we chatted for a while, that was fun. He said that he has a plan for later this year to go on a trip visiting various students around at their colleges, and I'm on his list ^_^ It will be so exciting to see him, yay.

Ooh ooh and a couple nights ago I saw Saved!, that movie with Mandy Moore and Jena Malone. It was soooooo funny. "Are you down with G.O.D.??" Bwahahaha. So amusing. Loved it! Loved it. Jena Malone is excellent.

Soooo that's it. Bye!

My four most favoritest girls are on top! Yay. That makes sense :)

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is "Wrong"

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans

Please post this in your journal if you are for gay marriage.

From this list it is obvious how stupid and close-minded the arguments against gay marriage are. There is absolutely no real argument against gay marriage; it is simply people who are intolerant and afraid of what is different. Hopefully, eventually the predominance of hate and fear will be reduced, but right now we need to speak out and fight for what is right.

ETA! The part in bold is the actual thing you're supposed to repost. The last paragraph is just some of my own personal commentary. Just wanted to clarify a bit ^_^

BJ Ficlet

So I have a BJ ficlet for you all. (That's Brian and Justin from Queer as Folk for the uninitiated). It was written during calculus class, so I wasn't so sure about it, but Sarah actually melted when reading it, so I took that as a positive sign ^_^ Do let me know what you think! (By the way, I swear I named this fic before I realized I had an icon that matched... hee!)

Exquisite
It’s 2:56 AM when they stumble through the loft door. It clangs shut behind them resoundingly, but the sound is so much a part of home that they’re oblivious. They’re drunk, they’re high, and they want to be wrapped around each other so badly that they’re already halfway there. Arms are tangled around waists, buttons undone, kisses landing haphazardly. Desire makes the air throb and pulse tangibly.

The walls of the loft have watched them do this dance night after night, but each time is exquisite. The boys never lose their fascination with one another, tinges of awed worship buried in the fierce, primal, possessive behavior. Always they teeter on a knife’s edge, but they know they won’t fall. Fingers twined in hair, skin pressed against sweaty skin, eyes wordlessly seeking – all these things hold them fast, forever.
