I FINALLY got my hands on the first two The Used albums from torrents! \o/

But now something extremely disturbing is happening. I KNOW ALL THE SONGS ON "IN LOVE AND DEATH." O.O What the hell? I mean, I'm sitting here singing along with songs that I haven't the faintest idea when or how I've heard before. I know that I love "Yesterday's Feelings," and "Hard to Say" is beautiful, but I don't know HOW I know these things! I am very very confused.

However, happy, because I've found my next musical obsession! MCR was just on the verge of getting stale from over-listening, and now I have a replacement! (Not that ANYBODY could *replace* my boys, just kind of give them a break for a while :)) That's how it always goes for me - I get extremely fixated on some artist or small group of artists for a few months, then I move on. It's pretty incredible that I got to see MCR during that period for me - that's why I tried so hard to see them in London. It was a once in a lifetime thing.

I watched the music video for "All That I've Got" last night, and I have to admit I CRACKED UP at the image of Bert all dolled up with the hat and the makeup and the gloves.... it was like this greasy old guy trying to pull off a Ryan Ross, hahaha. I'M SORRY, I know Bert has fans on my flist, I just... I can't, lmao. Maybe he'll grow on me? Maybe? :P

I tried to go to bed at a reasonable time last night. I did my medicinal chemistry homework, read some of the novel I'm reading, and turned out the light at 1:30. (Shut up that's early for me.) But then I didn't manage to fall asleep until at least 2:30, maybe 3. I feel so fucking shitty right now, achey and shell-shocked like my body can't believe I woke it up at 8:30. Ugh, today is not going to be fun. But I have my karate grading tonight! I have to be topnotch! -_- I hope it goes well.

Off to class! Meh.

I am now a red belt in Shotokan karate! YAY! \o/

We had our grading tonight, and it was surprisingly short and simple. We basically did what we normally do for class, with one of our normal instructors, while the grader sat and watched. Of course it was a bit more intense than usual, but that was awesome - I loved the rush. The red belt is the second one - we all skipped orange and went right to red, hurrah :)

Apparently the grader (Malachi) was particularly impressed with me! When the red belts were doing their grading, there were three of them so pairing up obviously didn't work, and he had me come up and be the fourth! That was really cool.

I love karate! It gives me this chance to just completely wipe my mind of all external stresses, focusing in on my own body and my own abilities, ridding myself of baggage and just immersing myself in it. I've always loved the idea of that kind of intense focus - I did something similar when I did dancing - and karate just suits me so perfectly. I really hope I find a good club back in Lancaster so I can keep up with it when I go home. I think it could be really good for me.

Now Sinead and I get to go buy our karate suits, I'm really excited :D

We went to the Pav (campus bar) afterwards to celebrate, so now I've got a Guinness in me and I'm a bit wobbly and giggly and affectionate. This should make working on my lab reports... interesting! *laughs*

Yay!
