Ain't no other man... but DEAN!

HEE. I just remembered the most cracktastic idea I had for a music vid last night. So I was listening to Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man" (It's a great song, and a great album too!) and wondering what the hell kind of guy could live up to all that praise? And my mind went: DEAN. Cause honestly. He's pretty much the perfect man, yeah? Disregarding the UTTERLY BROKEN thing? So maybe I'm biased, but bear with me.
"Ain't no other man can stand up next to you
Ain't no other man on the planet does what you do
You're the kinda guy a girl finds in a blue moon
You got soul, you got class,
You got style, you're badass
Ain't no other man as true
Ain't no other man but you."
Now tell me that couldn't be used as a crackalicious Wincest vid! *beams* Dean the Magnificent from Sam's point of view! The songs got an awesome beat, and would be totally fun to edit to. I might just consider doing it, or at least one chorus. *facepalm* I've totally lost it, haven't I? Hee.
I love Rita. She's sweet and adorable but at the same time very, very broken, and she's struggling so hard to regain her sense of self-worth. Julie Benz plays her magnificently, absolutely note perfect. It makes me happy to see her in such a complex role, she very much deserves it. I loved when she dognapped and was SO PROUD of herself. And then LARA CROFT! Hee! Oh darling.
I wasn't a fan of Deb at first (and I still don't much like how Dex is letting her skate on his findings, but I'm starting to accept it as an awesome big brother thing to do) but she's definitely growing on me. She's very cute. I also like that they stopped trying to pretend she's got a potty mouth. That was excessive and not creditable anyway. Now she's just enthusiastic, dedicated, a bit bumbling but her heart is in the right place. I loved when she kept punching Dexter's arm, heehee.
I really like how, as evidenced by the first two bullets, the show is really starting to flesh everyone out. It was entirely possible for them to keep it as the Dexter show, letting everyone else simply be characters in HIS play, but instead everyone is becoming layered and complex: Maria, Angel, James, Rita, Deb... they're all getting their own storylines, and it's wonderful.
Speaking of, Angel sitting by his sleeping daughter and giving her the necklace broke my heart.
I was SO GLAD Dexter didn't kill Tucci. Didn't even think about it, really. I was shaking my head wildly, like DONT DO IT DEX!!! and then he didn't! And I was like \o/! What an awesome show, making me root for a messed up serial killer, teehee.
Harry's methods of conditioning Dexter seem so bizarre, but really, it seems like he's actually managed to turn someone who was just born with this awful proclivity into a functioning member of society. Of course it begs many questions about vigilantism, but I've never been *particularly* against that, and in any case it's far better than a regular serial killer loose on the streets. And also makes for damn good TV :D
Wow, this show just keeps getting better and better! I'm gonna go get some breakfast and watch 1x05 :D

Date: 2006-12-20 07:23 pm (UTC)And eee! I'm so glad you're watching Dexter. Michael C. Hall is freaking fantastic, isn't he?
I love Rita. She's sweet and adorable but at the same time very, very broken, and she's struggling so hard to regain her sense of self-worth. Julie Benz plays her magnificently, absolutely note perfect.
I was afraid Rita was going to be this side character that was brought out only to show how Dexter found it difficult to fit in with Society, but wow, she's great. Julie Benz is amazing. (She was nominated for some award for this, btw.)

I really disliked her in the beginning - I don't know, she just felt really two-dimensional and annoying - but yeah, she grew on me, too. And I loved her in Some Episode that I won't name, for fear of spoiling you.
What an awesome show, making me root for a messed up serial killer, teehee.
That's the true beauty of Dexter. :D
