I love SO MUCH. If I were a weaker person, I would stay up until 7 AM to finish season 2. But I happen to like sleep :P So! More shall have to wait until tomorrow :D

I don't quite have the love for Stargate, Atlantis or otherwise (good movie, good show, but my brain, my heart, my *soul* can only take so many good shows, ya know?), but I feel the exact same way for Criminal Minds and Numb3rs. *sheepish grin* I've spent the last two days watching the first seasons for both instead of my thesis, which is coincidentally due in two days. ^^ Heh, fandoms.

So let me ask you something, as I'm sure you can give me an answer. What exactly is it about John and Rodney's interaction that make you think they are omgsoinlove? Because I have to admit to being completely baffled by all the McShepness in the fandom. I just don't see it. This is possibly a symptom of the fact that I don't like John Sheppard very much (my favorite characters, in order, are Rodney, Carson and Zelenka :D geeks for me!). I don't know. But if I can get someone to explain it to me, maybe I'll understand better.

Well let me preface this with the fact that I don't believe in talking other people into understanding a ship. Shippyness is pretty much something you either see or you don't - there's certainly an indefinable something that can't really be shown to you. Additionally, I love John Sheppard, omg. *laughs* So, uh, that's certainly got to be a big part of it.

So, uhm, *scratches head* let's see. I guess it's the way they go out of their way to poke fun at each other? How they're sometimes a little awkward around each other, like there's way more there than's being said. The way they've "made a habit of saving each other's lives." Oh god, the way John places all of his trust in Rodney in "Trinity" when NO ONE ELSE will. The way when either of them has a potential new girlyfriend, the other gets extremely jealous and cockblocky (I'm serious - happens every goddamn time!). And uh, the way they make me flail and giggle by so much looking at each other? I don't know >.< They're certainly not "omginlove" in the sense that Sam and Dean are. Except in fic, when I can definitely buy that if the characters are written a certain way.

Does that help at all? Heh. This show's basically my giddy happy place, and those boys are the center of it. (But omg I am so with you - geeks FTW!! I love all three of those boys too - it's just John that combusts my panties *g*)

Oh yes, definitely. I'm not looking to be converted here, 'cause I know that won't happen anyway. I'm just curious, I guess.

But now that you mention all that, I think I can see where everyone's coming from. It's just that I tend to ignore it all since John's very "meh" to me. Not that I don't like him at all, he's just sort of superfluous to my enjoyment of the show. And anyway, I would argue that all that interaction between them is simply a power-play: wanting to one-up the other and be the best. Although you're right, normally I would consider that very slashy.
