I must say that I am rather disappointed with this episode. It didn't seem to have any coherency, the flashbacks were worthless and uninteresting, and nothing HAPPENED (well not quite nothing, but I'll elaborate). In the hatch, we went backwards and explored Locke and Kate's experience, but there was nothing really revelatory about it. All it did was to set up Kate being in that vent, and it finished at the exact same point the last episode finished at! "You!" Wtf?
Meanwhile, on the raft, Michael and Sawyer are acting like they're five years old. "What are you gonna do? SPLASH ME?!" *Michael splashes Sawyer and his piece promptly falls apart* *I die laughing* Seriously, their bickering is so childish! It amuses me greatly. And then there was a shark, and Michael miraculously shot it in precisely the right place to kill it immediately rather than make it ferociously angry. But ANYway. I really thought Jin was dead, but he's not, so that's good.
Michael's flashbacks - so pointless! All they did was establish that Michael loves Walt. Um. Duh? Usually flashbacks have key pieces of information, although I'm feeling like now they're going to be less revelatory and more fleshing out (i.e., we already knew that Jack fixed Sarah and gets engaged to her. Although the Desmond thing was uber important, obviously.). I really want a Kate episode, because I want to know what she did dammit!
All in all this episode felt like a gap filler, but the promo for next week looks AMAZING. SO GOOD. Michelle, EEEEEEE! And others! And all sorts of crazy nonsense. So I forgive JJ&co for this little blip, and we'll call it the calm before the storm.
