exsequarKYLE CHANDLER HOW ARE YOU SO ADORABLE?
Is it strange that in a show full of handsome, strapping young lads, the guy I find most attractive is playing the father of a girl 4 years my junior? Maybe a little. BUT OMG I DONT CARE. His mussed hair in the morning, his puppydog eyes, his blinding smile when his players are cross dressing, and his all around squishableness - I am just completely head over heels. Need icon!
You know, I enjoyed this show from the very beginning, but I think it has finally swept me off my feet. I watched four episodes today and I'm considering watching my fifth.
Matt and Julie KILL ME with adorable. I just. I'm so glad she finally saw the light. He is just the sweetest thing since sliced bread, and she has charm and sass to bring out the best in him. I was afraid they were going to crash and burn when Landry pushed him to draw on the whole macho QB thing, but the scene with Matt's grandmother was just so touching, and Julie getting to see that was crucial. They are just too frigging cute, and I want more scenes of them being adorable together! Right now the focus is mostly on her parents' response, which is hilarious and completely understandable! Her daddy's pulling the protective papa card, which is just so frigging cute, and while he's being a bit unreasonable (it's MATT!) it's just so amusing and omg I adore him. His heart to heart with Julie was so funny. His and Julie's relationship is particularly touching to me because my dad is the most important person in my life, so father-daughter relationships always get to me the most. Aw. So much love for Coach, Mrs. Coach, and Coachlet! :D
The Triangle - Riggins/Street/Lyla. I am definitely enjoying this storyline. I feel bad for Lyla, and I understand that she made a mistake and she is completely and genuinely sorry, and she does NOT deserve the shit the bitches at school are giving her, but I still don't particularly love her. I care, but not love. Does that make sense? Anyway, I loved when she grabbed her problems by the balls and said "I'm the whore with the website." She needs to stand up to those asshats and show them that their pettiness can't bring her down. And Tim - oh TIM. He is being really and truly fantastic. He loves her (I don't quite get WHY, but whatever) and yet he's not trying to keep her - he's trying to do what's best for her. First he went to Jason and told him that Lyla loves him, then he went to Lyla and told her she had to go to the cheerleading competition. HOW IS HE SO WONDERFUL? And is he still sober? It's so wonderful that he's cleaning himself up.
More on Riggins specifically - I like the storyline with his brother, the major issues they've got there but also the piles of love. You know I'm a sucker for the brotherly love, baby :) Riggins just keeps getting more and more awesome - I'm startin to feel the love! \o/
Tyra - I just love her. I was predisposed to from the beginning, cause it's Adrianne! But I just love her spark, her independence, her determination. That was one helluva party she threw! I kind of want her and Tim to work out, but I don't know that they could ever be functional. She kinda feels like she's drifting right now, with no one to tie her down - she's kinda hovering around the Riggins boys, both of them, trying to find a center. I hope Riggins stabilizes enough and really opens his eyes to SEE her, so that they can really have something.
Smash - oh Smash :( Whyfore do you send yourself down the shithole? I just. That IDIOT recruiter, putting dumb ideas in a young man's mind, driving him to lying, stealing, cheating, and worst of all, harming himself. It's horrible. He's plummeting fast, and he is going to CRASH, and it will not be good. :( I am deeply intrigued by this new girl though, the reverend's daughter, whose name I haven't caught yet - she's intelligent, witty, and won't take any bullshit, but she also apparently has a big secret hiding under her hat. It seems to me that she and Smash need each other - they need to find some kind of balance, some ground where they can trust each other and become a sort of support system. I really look forward to seeing their story develop.
In conclusion, I ♥ COACH TAYLOR! :D

Parents only dream of their daughter bringing home someone as wonderful as Matt but they act they he is this awful guy stealing their little girl (she isn't chasing Tim for god's sake - this is MATT). And Julie is WAY more trouble than Matt....
Lyla - I never warmed up to her & finally figured out it is the actress, not the part. Minka does this weird mouth thing that annoys the crap out of me.
Tyra - I didn't realize for a HUGE LONG time that she is Jess (*is lame*). But, I loved her from day 1....
Brother of Tim - I love him. He is very Dean-like in his devotion to Tim.
Kyle Chandler - out hots all the hotties on the show PUT TOGETHER.
Coach & Mrs. Coach - best married couple of tv ever. I love that the writers devote time & energy to make them real as a couple. I have METRIC TONS of love for them.

Smash also started to get sympathetic (meaning that I can sympathize with him) during this plotline. The girl's name is Waverly and she's cool.
