BWEEEE!

Roommate woke me up this morning (well, I was kind of already awake) by knocking on my door and announcing I had a package. Inside said package? OCEAN'S ELEVEN! *beams*

Of course I immediately popped it in and watched half of it before Fei arrived for our trip to the mall, then watched the other half as soon as I came home. Followed immediately by all the extras. So. Much. Love.

It's been waaaay too long since I saw this movie, and I never paid due attention to dear Danny and Rusty! (What's wrong with me?? Seriously.) So this was just a trip and a half of utter joy and fun and and and whee! The first half hour is essentially the DannyandRusty show, how awesome is that? I love them conning the poor hapless young tv stars (hi Holly Marie hi! Heee) and all the reading each other's thoughts and the just generally deeply enjoying being reunited. It's so adorable and fun to watch.

One of my favorite parts of the movie is the very last scene, when Danny gets out after his three to six months. Rusty goes "I hope you were the groom." and Danny snarks back, "Ted Nugent called. He wants his shirt back." LOVE. And what makes this even MORE love is that the costume guy in one of the featurettes said that Brad and George ad libbed those lines! Eeeeee! How fabulous are they?!?? Omg. *draws a billion hearts*

The behind the scenes feature is pretty damn adorable. I love Julia Roberts! Tess is so severe and a bit bland, but Julia is so cute and giggly and she and George obviously had a blast. And there are so so many little moments of Brad and George just completely goofing off together and they are SO CUTE. There was a shot of them filming a scene that must have been cut from the movie, where Rusty and Danny walk out onto some patio or something with drinks - I wish they hadn't cut that!! They obviously just had the time of their life filming this movie. Brad says at one point "We shouldn't be being paid for this!" Heee.

You know, I kind of love Terry Benedict in this movie. He's sleek and forbidding and you actually believe he might pull some nasty shit. He's cold and ruthless. I vaguely remembered that, but I'm glad I was right, because in the second movie, Benedict seems like a parody of cold and ruthless, while in the third movie he's just a buffoon there for laughs. That kind of sucks, because he was so very cool in Eleven. Ah well.

Now I'm listening to the commentary with Brad, Matt Damon, and Andy Garcia, and omg. BRAD I LOVE YOU. He's so silly! I'm like 20 seconds in and he's already made two jabs at Clooney (making me desperately wish George was in on the commentary) and said that he's going more for a Mystery Science Theater 3000 feel, making me love him even more for just knowing what MST3K IS. Hee!

In short, OMGLOVE. \o/

I had nothing to do this afternoon and it was too hot to leave the house, so I watched Ocean's 12 on YouTube (some lovely person uploaded the whole thing in 12 segments!). I really squeed over the parts set in Rome, especially those Gallery scenes. So thanks for the impetus provided by your fangirling of the series - I may go back and try to find the first movie, now I've gotten a taste for it.
