David is having a kid! He had successfully kept it quiet until this weekend, when Jane's appearance at Comicon, um, clearly spilled the beans ;) So it's new news, it's okay that you didn't know!

When I got into the fandom, Mona linked me to some of her favorite stories. From there, I read everything by those authors, then I would generally look in their memories, or the memories of other fans, and find new authors. A lot of the authors are betas for each other, so I kinda just followed a trail from author to author. A lot of it was off LJ. It was a kind of unique experience for me, as far as getting into the fic of a fandom goes!

That's kind of what I've been doing, but I feel like I'm dead-ending a little bit. Do you still have Mona's links? Or have a lot of those been incorporated into your links? I guess I should just ask around (to people other than you, ha).

Pretty much all the great stuff I've found is in my McShep rec list and/or my memories. Mona's links were mostly things like Freedom's Just Another Word, the big ones that you've definitely read. Sorry I can't be of more help hon :-/ Have you tried searching stargate atlantis as an interest, seeing if any fic comms pop up?

Eh. I think I was going through your memories really super haphazardly, and then I had to quit Firefox and I forgot about it. I can't wait until I finish canon at this point, though, because I'm up to "Sateda" and I keep running into issues for spoilers for S3 in fic and I'm like "Eearghgurgle." So I think I'm just going to finish the story I'm reading and then watch "Sateda." And you're totally being helpful. ♥!

I myself am sort of forcing myself to work on my paper, but hilarious fic keeps distracting me! (Before you ask, it's bandslash :P) Rar! Damn boys being all, yknow, CUTE and whatnot, what the hell. Grarg I am so ready to be done with this paper and this project and just RELAX again. Siiigh.
