exsequarHahaha, wow, this is kind of awesome. I had heard tell of Pete Wentz and Ryan Ross's first online conversation, but I'd never actually read it. Now I finally stumbled on it! It's pretty much fantastic. Ryan calls Brendon "dead sexy" (oh, darling) and Pete is vaguely pedophiliac (Ryan Ross (7:48:57 PM): we look young Pete Wentz (7:49:42 PM): Youngs not abd at all) and Ryan is admirably articulate and calm, even though you KNOW he must have been freaking the fuck OUT. It's pretty obvious he knows what the hell he's talking about, musically, and I think that must have played a part in Pete's decision to come see them. RYAN ROSS FOR THE WIN! \o/

Mansoup, for the uninitiated, refers to all (or most) of Panic! and FOB getting into a hot tub together, "mostly naked" according to one Brendon Urie. I think that's the best thing I've ever heard in my whole life. Ryan must have been so giddy to have an injoke with fucking Fall Out Boy to post about. God. I love that precious little boy!!!

Have you, by chance, ever read the incredibly stalkerish comments Ryan used to leave Jac in her LJ? Because - that's probably the creepiest chapter in Ryan's short stint with LiveJournal. And it's hilarious. :D

Didn't Ryan mention all the good sex (he had with Brendon)? It's good for them that Brendon approved of oral already, right?
OH, PETE! How does he come across as endearing and creepy at the same time? ILOVEHIM! And within a month of meeting Pete, Brendon was recording his voice in "From Under the Cork Tree". Ryan includes a line in the December 20th entry "I keep telling myself I'm not the desperate type" <- with worse punctuation and lack of capital letters, I think.
In conclusion, they are THE BEST BOYS EVER!

The first bit - oh, RYAN. Your head is such a dark place! And then the two throwaway comments that end up turning into lyrics that millions of people holler back at him - "Give me envy give me malic give me your attention!" and "if you talk you better walk you better back your shit up." God, god, I LOVE HIS BRAIN.
I really really REALLY fucking love that FOB asked Brendon to sing on their album, and had Ryan do a guitar solo. That's, like. Amazing. I love what Pete did for these kids, it's just FANTASTIC. *happysigh*

He would go all wide eyed and freak out a little bit and there might be punching, or there might be SpencerSmith putting the smackdown on you. Or maybe he would like the snuggling! I know Brendon would, he'd probably be like AWWWW C'MERE ILU TOO. :)

His brain is this really horrible place, and he writes all these sad things and angry things, but then he goes and jokes with Brendon or adopts a puppy. I really wish ljseek went back more than it does, it's really aggravating reading the same things over and over when I know there are stories about him and Spencer and his school and his dad and everything that makes him the way he is now.
Also, I hope you don't mind the random person stealing that Pete/Ryan convo link and saving it. I saw it months and months ago and for some reason didn't save it anywhere, at all. So thank you for linking again! It's so creepy and endearing at the same time. I love everything about it, from Ryan making sure it actually is Pete, to being so cool and calm, to Pete asking if they're hot. Really, Pete? Really? Alright, cool, if it gets Ryan to say that Brendon's hot, I'm not complaining.

I had never directly thought of this comparison before, but his LJ posts made me think of how much he reminds me of my ex-best friend. She's also kind of a tortured artist, with all KINDS of things going on in her head, but she could also be the goofiest of goofs when she wanted. Ryan reminds me of that. Like the English language is only sort of adequate to express all the myriad thoughts tumbling around in his unfathomable brain. I've always sort of been awed by people who think like that, because it's so different from how my brain works. I'd love to spend a day in Ryan's mind.
I'm sad that his old stuff isn't archived anywhere too :( Though I suppose it's good that *something* of his remains private. There's a line that needs to be drawn, because he was just a kid and I think it's right that all that stays with him and isn't in the public sphere.
'Course I don't mind, I stole the link from someone else! *laughs* It's a pretty fantastic conversation, I agree. I am completely unsurprised by Pete asking if they're hot, because if Pete's anything he's a BUSINESSMAN, and hot sells, so, There you go. It's still hilarious though. And I want to eavesdrop on Ryan's subsequent hysterical (for Ryan, hysterical = some varied pitch in his voice ;)) phone call to Spencer about how OMG I JUST TALKED TO PETE WENTZ HE LIKES OUR STUFF OMG OMG SQUEEEEE. *grins* God, I love those boys so much.

Like, I've been in love w/ all these bands for a really reallyyyy long time but it's only in the past 6 months or so I got into Bandom online and it's made me so much more obsessive than I used to be! (Except for Pete... obsessive isn't even the WORD for how I used to be over Pete) ANYway.
Ummm if it's standing then no we don't need to buy together but we may as well anyway, it seems easier. I'm not either, I'm sure it won't sell out so let's wait until we both know a bit more what we're doing when we're in Ireland! I don't even know when I'm heading back to Belfast yet. That club sounds awesome, that would be fantastic! I definitely want to explore a lot of Ireland while I'm there, so it'll be great to have someone to touch base with for some of that! Very cool.
