SO MUCH TO LOVE HERE! Starting with, first and foremost, John's complete dismay and scrunchy-face-making when Rodney showed him the ring. He's SO IN LOVE with his insane scientist, and meanwhile Rodney does the tango on his heart. John's "second base?" and then his breathless, gutpunched "Really!" when Rodney says marriage. OW OW OW. John's voice was that gruff, breathy thing he only gets when he's particularly emotionally overwhelmed by Rodney McKay. SERIOUSLY. IT'S CANON. *SIGHS AT THEM*
That whole scene was so much love though - John called him DUDE! They were playing golf! John tried to encourage him to be late! (PS What a hideous ring, seriously.)
Teyla looked so pretty, sigh. And John feeling the baby kick! MY OVARIES MIGHT HAVE EXPLODED.
Ok, next moment of McShep awesome! JOHN MEMORIZED RODNEY'S PASSWORD! And he knows all the birthdays of those geek heroes TOO! What a geek in hot guy's clothing, seriously. And FORTY-TWO!!! I was squealing so much. DOOOOORKS <3333333
John climbing up the tower nearly gave me a heart attack, but DAMN he was good at it! *admires* And then it brought us the joy that is John, Lorne, and Chuck in scenes together - oh how I heart them all! I didn't know whether to go HI LORNE HI! or HI CHUCK HI! first, heehee. And when they rescued Radek and Carter, I had a random moment of Chuck/Radek from the darling solicitous concern Chuck showed, hee. SERIOUSLY IT WOULD BE SO ADORABLE YOU GUYS. THEY COULD DOUBLE DATE WITH JOHN AND RODNEY. <33333
Taking a step backwards, Radek and Sam were SO adorable together! The pigeon and Radek's stumbled explanations! (I've totally been there, baby, just with random hot guys on my desktop and people raising eyebrows. Hee.) Sam's fond amusement at lots of things Radek said! Her attempted joke with the messenger pigeon and Radek not getting it! SO ADORABLE. Moar plz <333
Ronon and Keller!!! SO RIDONKULOUSLY CUTE. Very high school with the shifting til the head's on the shoulder, etc etc, not exactly what I'd expect out of Ronon but still so so cute. Also, Ronon's been getting injured more in sparring so he can go spend more time with Keller, Y/Y?? ADORABLENESS. Maybe they'll actually do well by a canon relationship now? Maybe?
On the other hand, Rodney and Katie. BLEGH. Don't even mention them to me. It was only slightly redeemed by them both realizing they're not ready at the end, but seriously, the whole thing just stinks. They're in a relationship for a year and a half, Rodney's considering marriage, and when they get saved from near-death, Rodney HUGS HER? SERIOUSLY? It's like they're in a middle school relationship. It hurts me to watch them >.< And we're not even going to mention the cactus *shudders*
Other than that, MADE OF WIN, ATLANTIS. I LOVE EVERYBODYYYYYY <333333 TEAM YAYE.

I was glad to see Radek get some time in the spotlight, even though Rodney (predictably) made it sound like less than it was ("Technically, yes, though it was more of a group effort") Excuse me, Rodney, but what were YOU doing while Radek was crawling through those shafts? Lying on the floor commiserating to your wannabe wife/girlfriend/SO whatever.
Overall, I liked this episode. Some really good examples of character development (like Ronon making room for Keller to sit next to him at the table and the looks from John and Teyla). Can't wait to see next week!

Rodney needs someone to tell him that everything will be okay if he just calms the fuck down, not someone to tentatively suggest that maybe he might want to consider calming down. And I kind of want fic where John finds out about the cactus and starts making lots of awkward cactus jokes. Seriously, WHAAAT was that about?
