Dear Supernatural,
Way to be super fucking awesome for an hour and then RIP MY HEART OUT BY THE ROOT. PAMELA! And KIMMMMM. I was already sad and then Kimmmm. *sniffles* My heart. :(
What an eerie, beautiful episode. I LOVE that they brought back Tessa, love love love, I think she's one of the best female castings they've ever done. Her big eyes seem to see right through people (and by people I mean Dean) and she has such a lovely gravitas yet sweetness to her. I love that Dean feels he can be honest to her (death!) of all people, and how she just listens without judging. Death is the only neutral party, really. The whole episode just resonated beautifully and I really loved it.
Christopher Heyerdahl as Alistair was a little jarring because of that weird voice he copied from the first actor. He did a great job copying it, but I hated it in the first place and it was only slightly more bearable on Chris. It was even more unsettling because the middle actor, the one in the graveyard, DIDN'T do the weird voice. Bah. But his performance otherwise was pretty great, since he himself is made of awesomesauce.
I also loved the kid who played Cole. His sheer GLEE when he was beating up these two guys twice his height, and moving things with his brainz. He was adorable, and yet he also had the ability to be heartwrenching, with his massive brown eyes and sad mouth. Such a cutie, and very well cast.
Oh Sam Sam Sam. This road you're on is leading nowhere good. :-/ I'm nervous!
I also just want to give Dean a huge hug. ILU bb and I would never lie to you :(
And then they killed Pamela. :( So sad. Touching those boys is like, I don't know, slow working poison. It destroys everyone around them (think the Roadhouse, for example). So tragic.
But yes! Amazing episode! Keep it up show. :D
I continue to have a wonderful time at Michigan! Dinner was lovely (and super swanky - I'd estimate at least $350 for the six of us) and I met some very nice folks. My favorite was a fellow visiting student, Yevgeniy, who's originally from Russia and has a slight, lovely accent. He's very sweet and mellow and smart and pleasant and I just very much enjoyed talking to him. The other visiting student, Vanessa, was also awesome. The professors were lovely (the woman) and awkward/weird yet still nice (the guys) and it was a really nice evening. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!
Obligatory Watchmen note: when I listen to "Unforgettable", I think of it as Eddie and Ozy's theme song. SO INAPPROPRIATE. Or extremely appropriate, idk. That scene is fucking awesome.

Date: 2009-03-14 01:42 pm (UTC)Those credits at the beginning and the non-stereotypical music really really got me thinking about juxtaposition! Damnit, I need a Watchmen icon...
ps. I have such a crush on Nite Owl. I think it's the glasses? See, my husband has this 80s thing going on sometimes and I HATE it but it's been 10 years and I hate it less than I think it's endearing, now... so the whole sexy nerd who can look like an almost loser is really attractive to me.

That's exactly why I've been crushing on Dan since I read the graphic novel last summer. It doesn't hurt that Patrick Wilson played it so well.

Date: 2009-03-14 08:34 pm (UTC)I almost got the soundtrack (the one with Unforgettable on it) yesterday but couldn't justify it in my head when the Motion Comic was on sale. Though I didn't even get that because I thought I could watch it on On-Demand for free. BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT TOO.
