What happened to Kara?!?? I suppose more to the point... what WAS Kara?? I'm honestly very sad that Kara and Lee didn't set up and build a cabin and live happily ever after... but he'll never forget her. That's when I started sobbing. :( My beautiful Starbuck, my Kara, my lovely girl. She saved them, she found a new Earth, she was at peace. My beautiful, wonderful girl. I'll never forget you either, Kara.

First of all, I had some kind of brain glitch with my first sentence. It said that I liked that that was the last Kara/Lee scene. It should have said that I liked that the earlier scene was tucked into the last Kara/Lee scene. I must have been distracted for a moment, sorry.

While I'm not a K/L shipper, I do believe that they loved each other. I think that was one of the central pairings of the show and to deny that they were in love is to be willfully ignorant. I don't know why, but I just wasn't as heavily invested in those two characters as I was some of the others.

I liked Anders well enough, and I believe that Kara loved him, but I don't believe that was her strongest relationship, friendship, or bond. I believe the relationships she had with all three Adamas are the ones that ended up defining her. Anders always felt like a plot point to me, which is pretty much what he turned out to be. In fact, I actually didn't think they had done enough with Kara and Anders to justify her behavior over the past few weeks. It felt to me that the writers were trying to force their relationship into being deeper than it ever actually was. I don't know, Kara and Lee were just always more organic to me.

I agree that the theories extend to Bill as well. I loved her bond with him, I actually found that relationship to be one of the best and most interesting on the show.

I'm glad my journal jump was okay and that my interpretations made sense to you. I was also surprised at how very little my friends have had to say about the finale. I'm hoping they're just digesting it and that the posts will come eventually. Thanks for letting me chat about it here!

I definitely agree that Kara and Lee felt more natural than Kara and Anders. Anders was likeable enough that I didn't hate him for coming between my OTP!!1!1, but their relationship never felt all that powerful either. I read or heard somewhere recently (was it the Last Frakkin Special?) that Anders was brought in pretty much as a way to prevent Kara and Lee from getting together, because once you've done that where do you go? And then he stuck around because he was rather lovely and compelling. But that doesn't change the fact that he was stuck there as a plot point, and then became a different plot point (ie, a cylon) later.

Would you like to perhaps be friends? We don't have loads and loads of interests in common, but you do love Dr Who, and I rather adore that show :D

I missed the special! I'll have to look out for it and see what they say. I never bought that they had always known he was going to be one of the final five. Now I feel vindicated!

I'm back on the DW, but I should also warn you that I was extremely bitter about the ending of last season. It made me irrationally angry at RTD. I'm a bit better now, but I do sometimes have relapses!

Oh my god, SO much of the ending was completely pulled out of Ron Moore's ass. They chose the final four cylons in one meeting, and the decision to end on Earth (as in, our Earth) was made just when he wrote the finale, and I think all of that really shows. I wish they had done more planning ahead, honestly.

Hee, soccer is awesome! I don't watch nearly enough of it but I enjoy it very much.

Aw, I totally understand the bitter. Donna :( :( :( :( But I am enough of a Rose/Ten girl that that made me squeal and flail, though it is a mixed blessing at best. I loved the whole team flying the Tardis though!

I agree that it showed. There was a lot of stuff that just didn't seem well thought out. It was still better than a lot of stuff on tv, but it's a shame they hadn't had a real road map the whole time.

Okay. So I guess I'd be classified as a Rose/Doctor shipper, but I don't get upset at the idea of him with someone else. I did not care for the parting gift the Doctor left with Rose though. I just have issues with RTD's belief that if someone looks like someone else than they can swap in for each other. And I still haven't accepted what happened with Donna. I clearly have issues.

That scene of them all flying the TARDIS was lovely, though. One of the best RTD had ever done.

Also, hi back! I'm Carey and I'm from New York and New Jersey. I also lived in CA for a while but moved back to NYC about a year and a half ago. I work in the entertainment industry, but I'm currently unemployed. Thanks, economy!

Hi Carey! I'm from Connecticut and I've been going to college in Pennsylvania for the past four years, but I'm about to graduate. (So I'm 21!) I've just decided that I'm going to the University of Michigan to get my PhD in Chemical Biology and I'm both terrified and thrilled. I guess the other big thing to know about me is that I studied in Dublin for a year and it is my favorite place on the planet, so I mention it a lot!

I love Dublin! I haven't been there in ages, but it's one of those cities that I can just imagine myself living quite happily in.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Which school in PA were/are you at? I've heard lovely things about the UoM. Ann Arbor is supposedly a wonderful place to live.

Thank you! I'm at Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA. It's pretty much 50/50 chance that you've heard of it. But yeah I'm really excited for UM - I hoped for a bigger city, but I think Ann Arbor will be lovely and a good size for my graduate period.
