exsequar: ((TW) Captain Jack cries)
[personal profile] exsequar
Fucking hell. Note to self: if you ever need a good cry, just watch the last five minutes of Six Feet Under again. I just watched it on a whim and now I'm covered with snot and tears. MY HEART.

On the other hand, What a Catch bored me more than anything. I think that's a pretty eloquent statement on my investment in FOB. I'm glad you all like it though!

In two days I get to go to a RENFAIRE. I am so bloody excited. The day after? IKEA!!! Yay. I'm so glad I'm near Meg, finally - I've always felt that we'd be really super close friends if we got to live near one another, and lo and behold! She's a Renfaire and IKEA kind of gal. Aka, my kind of gal! :D

I really have nothing to talk about. I'm going to go watch Bones and then pack for the weekend! ♥

I am I am! You should come visit! Hee :D

I'm sorry. :( I feel like a terrible fangirl when it comes to FOB, but Patrick does literally nothing for me. In fact, the whole band does. I have this icon mostly because Pete is wearing Mikeyway's glasses. *Shrug* It cannot be explained!

OH MY GOD THAT MONTAGE. I love it.

The way this entry started, I was really worried that you were going to say your science had gone badly or something! I'm figuring that no news is at least OK news... or actually no news. It can take sooo long to get results sometimes! Haha.

SO GOOD AND SO SAD. ;____;

Haha, nope, science is still fun! Today was a semi-interesting day. We had a loooong (two full hours!) meeting with most of the lab, about the medicinal chemistry direction Jason wants our work to take. It's not really what my focus is, but he thought it would be interesting for me, and it was! Kind of intimidating, but I was pleased at how much I followed. Also, the discussion gave me an idea for my own project, which I proposed to him after the meeting, and he went "Oooh, I hadn't thought of that! Great idea!" and now he's all jazzed about pursuing it. I was very pleased with myself. :D Also, I'm just finishing up purification of my huge protein synthesis, and tomorrow I'll find out how pure it is and how much I've got - fingers crossed!

*wibbles* I know. The whole thing is beautifully sad, but Keith is just sad. :(

I'm really excited about it! Even the lack of internet access doesn't bother me at all!

I enjoyed this video more than I was expecting to. I don't really like the song, so I wasn't expecting the video to resonate with me at all. But I also have a bit of a thing for Tesla and his pigeons, so I really liked that reference. That said, I don't foresee watching it a second time any time soon. *shrug*

Ikeaaaa. I want to go! :D

I don't know who this Tesla is! The only reference I got was the Titanic, and Pete waving, and I lol'd. Clearly if I was a true fan I should have sobbed into a hanky. *hands* Oh well! I've never claimed to be a FOB fangirl!

IKEA!!!! I've never gone while I needed something, or had my own money, so I'm REALLY EXCITED about this, ngl. :D

I think [livejournal.com profile] fleurdeliser is referring to Nikola Tesla who used to feed pigeons in the park.

Nikola Tesla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla)! He was a crazy scientist who invented or discovered a bunch of important things we use today (like alternating current). And he was in love with his pigeons. Like, actually. He was crazy. :D But yeah, I am uh, not invested in FOB. And I'm even less invested in Panic. *shrug*

I think I've told you this before, but I watched that finale before I watched the whole rest of the show, and I sobbed my face off without even knowing any of the characters. It completely broke me into pieces, and even now, a couple years later, I still can't really get a handle on the sensation. I'm pretty positive I've never been affected quite so viscerally by something like that before.

I think that's really amazing, and says a lot about the power of that whole sequence. It's done so, so gorgeously, in every way. I appreciate its existence very much, and it was such a great and deserving culmination to a long emotional investment in those characters. ♥

It's like they hit the magical CRY NOW button really, really hard with that whole sequence! It's incredibly powerful, from the music to the acting to the cinematography to the rhythm of the flashbacks. MY HEART.
