Today is an AMAZING DAY for music. \o/

First up, we have the official release of Empires' BANG. Buy the deluxe version (FOUR WHOLE DOLLARS), because it has one extra song (Animal, which is beautiful), along with the two new tracks that weren't released before (Hello Lover, which I heard live and is fanfuckingtastic, and Voodooized, which gets me right where I live), AND a whole set of gorgeous photos by Tom and a lovely video shot by Ryan that follows them around some shows and gets some commentary on the making of this album. In short, I love them, and you should too. ♥

Secondly, CHRISTIAN KANE's EP came out yesterday!!! Totally unexpected and extremely happy making. I have been waiting for a new Kane album for LITERALLY THREE YEARS, and it's everything I could have hoped for! Rockin and catchy and just full of so much life. Kane is the only country band I've ever liked enough to really listen to, but Christian really has something special. I want to roll around in his voice forever. One of the songs is about an awesome girl who picks HIM up in a bar by buying him a whiskey! It's sexy and so much fun! Also still around is THE HOUSE RULES, which is still just as awesome as it was a few years ago.

I am truly delighted by both of these occurrances. Even if you haven't given Empires a try, I highly recommend checking out BANG (you can pay only $2 for the full not-deluxe album!) because it's head and shoulders their best work to date, and just a really really solid and interesting rock album. I am so proud of them. ♥

aisoekrjlas ~scrambles for Christian's EP~ omfg. :D he's pretty much the only country i listen to any more, largely because it's got such a rough, untamed edge to it that i just fucking love. ngh.

and i just have to share, greenetno and i were discussing how fabulous it would be for Sean and Christian to do some kind of duet but then again maybe not, because they both already sound like sex on their own, if they joined forces we'd probably all be dead...

YAY I'm glad to have brought at least one fan's attention to it! He mentioned it out of the blue on Twitter yesterday and SUDDENLY WE HAVE IT! It's seriously effing amazing. I totally get what you mean about the untamed thing - it's not all polished or overproduced, just vivid and FUN. I love his Live in London album just as much as the original album, because both have the same quality of vividness to them.

Ahahaha um I THINK I WOULD DIE, YES. Their voices are both so unique and a little gritty and unffff. Combination = lethal. :D

right??? combine that with the thought of Beth and Tomrad combining their photographic talents to do a shoot with Chris and Empires and. we kinda broke our brains. it was wonderful.

Oh dude, totally! I've had it for years! I even have a copy that a friend got signed for me by Kane himself. :DD I just uploaded all my Kane to this folder. There's Live in London, Kane, and "Unknown Album" which has some random tracks which are actually some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Oh gosh, no. I mean, I'm a big country and alt-country fan? but like, the early SPN fandom got to me in a big way, and I've been in love with Christian's voice for four years now. :/

Although, dude, if you can spare the $15, it might be worth buying it here? I mean, from what I can tell, Christian is still not affiliated with any major label and I do like to suggest that people support indie music. (not trying to be bossy! just, you know, cheerleading for mr. Kane.)

I've been in love with Christian since he was Lindsey on Angel, but most of my friends have been "you like what? who? AHAHAHA" until i got into bandom, and then i just. kinda forget that people aren't gonna laugh at me any more. it's a thing. ~laughs~

I always buy the albums when I can; i just usually can't. I'm slowly working on it, but there's ppls in line before him. I did just spend the $ on the ep, though, so yay for being able to give him $ that way. Wish i didn't live on a quarter of a shoestring budget. :|

Sure! As mentioned in other comments, if you have the ability it would be lovely if you considered buying the CDs directly from Kane, but I understand if you can't. :)

I'm still on the Empires mailing list so I've bought all the Bang releases so far, too. Idk, I have one of the first ed hard copies of Howl so I had to buy hard copy of this shizz too. Completist! I don't even listen to Empires right now because of my Adam Lambert obsession but for when I get off the crazy pop train for two seconds I will have good stuff waiting... And I like the really DIY yet solid way they approach marketing and promo. Do you know if they're even trying to get signed or if they're biding their time or what? Do they just want to be so independent they don't even go on an indie label? Am I silly for imagining they have some kind of dastardly plan here or is it all just them winging it?

Yaaaaay Empires! I cannot fault you for being on a super Adam kick, for he is made of amazing and sparkles, but I do hope you come back to Bang soon because it's wonderful. :D

Tom was asked (...somewhere, I don't even remember where) whether they're trying to get signed, and he said that they really don't want to jump on anything that isn't totally perfect for them. So I guess the right opportunity just hasn't come around. And I think that's smart! They want to make sure they do what's right for the band, and in the meantime they're making amazing music and connecting with fans. I heartily approve. :)

I LOVE CHRISTIAN KANE'S CD!
I'm not a huge country fan so I was so pleased to not only like but really enjoy his album.
Love "Whiskey in Mind" so much. "House Rules" is awesome but my fave is "Let Me Go".
I get to see him live in Portland on the eve of my 29th Birthday March 21st!
