exsequar: (Girlyrock - E - Tom exploding high)
Today is an AMAZING DAY for music. \o/

First up, we have the official release of Empires' BANG. Buy the deluxe version (FOUR WHOLE DOLLARS), because it has one extra song (Animal, which is beautiful), along with the two new tracks that weren't released before (Hello Lover, which I heard live and is fanfuckingtastic, and Voodooized, which gets me right where I live), AND a whole set of gorgeous photos by Tom and a lovely video shot by Ryan that follows them around some shows and gets some commentary on the making of this album. In short, I love them, and you should too. ♥

Secondly, CHRISTIAN KANE's EP came out yesterday!!! Totally unexpected and extremely happy making. I have been waiting for a new Kane album for LITERALLY THREE YEARS, and it's everything I could have hoped for! Rockin and catchy and just full of so much life. Kane is the only country band I've ever liked enough to really listen to, but Christian really has something special. I want to roll around in his voice forever. One of the songs is about an awesome girl who picks HIM up in a bar by buying him a whiskey! It's sexy and so much fun! Also still around is THE HOUSE RULES, which is still just as awesome as it was a few years ago.

I am truly delighted by both of these occurrances. Even if you haven't given Empires a try, I highly recommend checking out BANG (you can pay only $2 for the full not-deluxe album!) because it's head and shoulders their best work to date, and just a really really solid and interesting rock album. I am so proud of them. ♥

\o/ MUSIC! \o/

Happy Mother's Day!! I know there's a lot of strong, awesome moms on my flist, and I just want to say I respect you so hard, and you are all amazing. I hope you had a lovely day. ♥ I sent my mommy a card and a gift certificate for a 30 minute massage, so I hope she enjoys that :)

My day was pretty intense. My friend Dierdre has been single-handedly planning and running this charity drive called Dump N Run, where we put boxes in all the dorms and public buildings, and students put stuff they dont want anymore in them as they're moving out of college. We collect all the stuff, sort it, and sell it in a big community yard sale. So all last week I went around gathering boxes almost every day, lugging stuff to my car and dragging it into the sports center where we were storing it. Yesterday I worked for 6 hours gathering the last of the stuff (it took me and Matt 4 trips in his Jeep from ONE dorm building) and helping to sort it in the gym. We ended up with unbelievable piles of stuff - a couch, some armchairs, several desks, a couple bookcases and dressers, a kitchen table set, hundreds of pounds of clothes of all sorts, four entire tables full of food (like soup, oatmeal, granola bars, those kinds of things), four tables of shoes, and lots of miscellania. So today I woke up at 8 to help Dierdre make and put out signs, then the sale started at 12. By 11, people were already lining up, and at 12 there were at least 50 people in line, probably more. When we opened, it was a flood! Within 45 minutes, 90% of the stuff was gone, leaving mostly crap. We made - wait for it - at least $1800. Yay!!!! I was so proud of Dierdre, and glad that I'd taken part, but oh boy I'm exhausted. I have a bad back, so the six hours yesterday of standing and lifting completely did a number on it, and even ibuprofen and icing isn't really doing anything. Bah. Oh well, it was a good thing to do, and the money's going to the local Domestic Violence Services and a food kitchen. Yay!

Michelle and I came home and collapsed around 1:30. We watched two episodes of Leverage to relax, as you do! Elliot, I love your FACE, and OH HARDISON!!! How are they so amazing? Parker is absolutely growing on me too, especially after the episode with the orphans. "We're more than a team." AWWW team. *draws hearts* My main stumbling block with this show is that I just... don't like the two older leads, Timothy Hutton especially. He is frequently ridiculous in the bad way and almost never funny and I spend most of his screen time rolling my eyes. But whatever! Little team kids! A little crazy and dorky and badass and snarky! A millllllion hearts.

We then got a craving for Christian Kane so we watched two random Angel episodes, first Disharmony because it was on the disc (HARMONY *hearts*) and then... the one with the Evil Hand!!!1!!1, I forget what it's called. Now of course I'm listening to Kane because Christan could croon to me ALL DAY, unf. Where is his next album?! Sigh.

Michelle made tasty pasta with salmon and pesto sauce, and then she went to bed, so now I'm just chillin on my couch doing NOTHING. This would be even more awesome if my back wasn't killing me, but as it is it's pretty damn awesome. \o/ I am almost a million percent done with college! YAY!

La la la I'll stop rambling at you. Maybe I'll finish the SPN fic I've been reading - I know! Amazing! :D
exsequar: (FF Tams blood is thicker)
Joss Whedon is my favorite person ever. No really. I know this isn't new news, but. A Special Edition release of Serenity has been announced for this summer. YAY! I can own it in widescreen!! And yes, this is the only movie I would buy twice. Joss has this to say about the new edition:

Joss is my god... )
Oh Joss. *beams* New key art, anyone? (Thank GOD) And CAST COMMENTARY YAY!

In other news, I have ordered the entire first season of Farscape. This is ALL Lindsay's fault. As well as Mona and Erin's and anyone else who's flailied to me. But mostly it is the fault of the completely hotass picture Linds posted of Ben Browder and Claudia Black the other day. ROWR! I can't wait :D And here I thought I was gonna resist the whole mainstream scifi thing and stick to the "brainy" stuff like Firefly and BSG - ha! It was only a matter of time, only a matter of time.

I also ordered Sorority Boys, because crossdressing Michael Rosenbaum is too good to pass up for 6 bucks. And I don't even watch Smallville! *hands* See what fannish osmosis can do to a girl? I also ordered The Departed at the same time *salivates* I can't wait omg.

I found out, randomly, that a good friend of mine is a country fan! So I'm going to show her Kane and hopefully she will fall head over heels and I will have a fellow Kane fan to squeal with! YAY! Hee.

I continue to listen to the new Fall Out Boy album on repeat. IT'S SO GOOD OMG. I also read two current articles about them in the bookstore today, in Rolling Stone and Spin. Pete Wentz is gorgeous, but a bit of an attention whore, lol. But he also seems pretty cool. And did I mention gorgeous? :)

Speaking of FOB, could one of my fellow fans come to my rescue? SOMEHOW I don't seem to have a copy of Sugar We're Going Down! *boggles* SO bizarre. I have all three of the albums, I do, but somehow that song is just... missing! Weeeeeird. It must have gotten lost in my new laptop move. So if someone could sendspace it to me or something, that would be awesome :D starlight1013@gmail.com

And that's all my random for the day! Funny, not one mention of SGA or SPN o.O Who knew?
exsequar: (Kane HOUSE RULES)
*squeeflails* Omg!

Okay, two things.

One, [livejournal.com profile] ckll just posted scans of a new Jsquared interview!!. The article is called BLOOD BROTHERS and all it is is Jensen and Jared talking about their "spooky bond"!!!! It's SO adorable, and they say things like "Whenever we get the chance, we'll hang out." Jensen also says "He's got a girlfriend and I love her to death" - Susan I thought of you! Heehee. They are just the cutest things ever, omg.

Second, KANE HAS A NEW SONG! Eeeeeeee! It was the first email I opened when I woke up, and let me tell you, that was a NICE wakeup. Much nicer than being woken up from a beautiful dream, ARGH, stupid brain! ANYWAY. It's SO RIDICULOUSLY GOOD, and when this album comes out I'm going to combust. It's streaming on their MySpace: Go listen!

In TV news...

I finished SGA S2!! Thoughts to come later, when I don't have to leave for class in 10 minutes.

BSG - BLAAAARGH. And that's all I've got to say.

Except - *squeeflail*! This all is going to make my day from hell MUCH easier to bear. Yay for that.
exsequar: (SN Jared candyman!)
It occurs to me that Jared must LOVE Halloween. All the candy! The boy must be beside himself with glee. I bet the boys went trick or treating, and Jensen fed Jared candy while sitting in his lap, and they are SCHMOOPY and ADORABLE and hee. I amuse myself.

Two things of import:

I worked up the courage to call Danny. My heart was POUNDING. And then it went to voicemail :( I left a message, but now this gives me the ulcer-inducing stress of will-he-call-or-won't-he?!? *flails*

I recieved a wonderful package from [livejournal.com profile] daysoflo today! It contained Kane's Live In London CD, signed by CHRISTIAN KANE to ME! *BEAMS* Guys, Chris wrote my NAME! Heehee. Thank you so much Loey, you ROCK *hugs tight*

Happy Halloween kids! I celebrated by eating a chocolate bar. I rock.
exsequar: (SN Michael little boy big world)
*stabs things*

I'll give you an alternative to my bitchiness by linking you to New KANE pictures from their concert this weekend LOOK AT 25 and 26. AWWWW. Someone put Steve or Jensen in there, kthx. Hee.

Now back to your originally programmed rant.

Okay so I was getting vaguely worried about how I was gonna get all my work done this weekend, but I thought it was going to be manageable. I have a couple pretty huge things I need to get around to, but I could have done it. But THEN I look in my planner and realize that Sunday night, from 5-8 (that's right, PRIME HOMEWORK TIME) I have a fucking volunteer training session at a nearby health clinic. And the upshot of the training is that I get to spend three hours every tuesday afternoon (one of only 2 free afternoons I had every week - now we're down to 1!) at the clinic. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to volunteer and I think it's gonna be a good experience, but 1) I'm pretty sure I'm not going to med school anymore, so I don't need this experience, and 2) I DONT HAVE THE TIME. *holds head* The main problem is that on Sunday night I was also planning to get together with my Bio lab group (*stab stab stab*) to write our fucking lab report on the shitty ass data we got on the experiment we "designed". It's going to be a headache and a half, let me tell you. Oh my god. So basically my entire Sunday evening is taken up by these two activities, meaning I can't read Ulysses, work on my research fair presentation, or do any other of the trillion things that need my attention (like my Wincon recap!! The longer I wait the more it will fade from my memory! :(:().

ARGH.

*sits down and cries*
exsequar: (Kane makes a great daddy)
So obviously there are other Christian Kane fans on my flist, so I'd thought I'd point this out to y'all! Starting tomorrow, TNT is putting the whole miniseries Into the West, plus bonus features, online as the debut of it's "Dramavision" thingamabob. You can see it at tnt.tv! I for one am so excited, I never got to see this!
exsequar: (Default)
Omigod, I LOVE Angel S2. I was getting all FLAILY I was so excited, so I had to take a break to keep myself from spontaneously combusting! Also? I LOVE CHRISTIAN KANE SO MUCH IT HURTS! *flappy hands* All the little nuances in his acting make me squee and flail and rewind and rewatch all the time!

Oh I am such a fangirl.

*LOVES SO HARD*

(I need to reupload a Chris-as-Lindsey icon!)
exsequar: (Kane makes a great daddy)
So I'm slowly but surely getting around to posting the Theory of a Deadman stuff. I got a few good pictures, and the videos came out decently - if you know the songs, you can tell what they're playing, which... is good, I guess! The audio's out of sync by a couple seconds, but oh well.

In the mean time, some lovely images have cropped up of Christian Kane in Close to Home today, posted at [livejournal.com profile] hires_hunks. Unfortunately, that fugly woman (who apparently is the... star of the show? ookay) is in all the pics messing up the christian love! [livejournal.com profile] killerweasel drew my attention to a particularly lovely one, and I decided to clean it up... aka take out that woman. And voila!

Bigger version )

I also made an icon, as seen above :D They're so adorable! Awwww.

And more pictures.... I got my Hermione shirt, and so I decided to share!

Gratuitous boob shot

And a couple more (pictures, not boob shots!) )

As you can see behind me, I've made a new wall of pretty things... I simply can't have a colorless, pretty-boyless room! So a couple pictures of that as well.

Jensen, Jensen, some other people, and oh yeah, JENSEN )

Well, that's my picspam for the evening! Hope you enjoyed! \o/
exsequar: (Misc: \o/!!!)
So [livejournal.com profile] joyfulgirl41 linked to a cool website wherein these girls (I think?) blog about country acts that aren't mainstream but are very talented and should be more well known. Or something like that. But they love Kane, which is awesome, and so I'm linking to this article which is very funny (it reminds me of TWoP in its style - not the cynicism, but the humor) and just an ode to our favorite boys. -> http://www.hardcore-troubadours.com/2006/06/12/19

This weekend promises to be all that and a bag of chips. I have no idea why I just said that, but it's a fun saying, don't you think? ANYwho, Jeff and the kids are taking off to visit his grandparents until Sunday afternoon, so it's just me and Meg! Girls' weekend, YAY! We plan to start Buffy season 3 (which she hasn't seen most of, despite being a big Buffy fan and having seen most of the other seasons. I am truly baffled and dismayed by this, and thus am going to remedy it) and watch as much of it as we can, YAY. I am ridiculously excited because, hello, FAITH! And also the whole season just rocks my socks right off my feet. Also part of this weekend will be beef stew for dinner at Anne and Franklin's house, which will be awesome, and watching some World Cup! And THEN, Sunday, I'm going to see Theory of a Deadman! YAY!

In addition, I am so excited for Winchester Con that I really could throw up! :D That should seriously be the motto for the con, heeee. There are FIFTY FOUR people ALREADY PAID, and even MORE who have yet to pay, and OMG. I AM SO EXCITED, GUYS. Nan posted the icons I made at the con comm *bounces* Yay for fangirls!!!
