Things wot are awesome:

  • This montage of Topher being... well, Topher:

  • Amy Gumenick is filming her lead guest role on Castle right now! For those who don't know, she played Mary on Supernatural and she's such a doll.A photo from Jon Huertas's Twitter )
  • This post from Jezebel: A Gallery of Extremely Handsome British Men. The post itself is kind of lacking, but the comments are gold. Damian Lewis! Ewan McGregor! Matthew Goode! David Tennant! Jamie Bamber! Yessss. ♥ (Obviously, Scotsmen are not British, though they do live in the United Kingdom. However, Irish I will not tolerate being called British. Just sayin!)
  • I just made this because it needed to be made. Every time I feel whiny about the Michigan winter weather, I visualize this: A very apt motivational poster )
  • STARK SANDS HAS A LEADING ROLE IN THE BROADWAY PRODUCTION OF AMERICAN IDIOT. :DDDDDDD I haven't even watched all of Gen Kill but already I LOVE Stark and his face. I was wishing that I could get to see American Idiot anyway, but now I'm talking about road tripping to NYC for this shit with my Chicago crew. MFY.
  • I get to see Gold Motel with [livejournal.com profile] angel726 this weekend!! :DDDDD
  • Tomorrow my darling Steffen is making dinner for me and Kate and Francisco. I'm SO excited. Kate's making dessert too! I love those three fools beyond all reason. I've realized that they perfectly parallel my three besties from Ireland - two boys and a gal - and I feel the same kind of comfort and joy around them. I am so grateful to have found that - within a 14 person program to boot! Every day I have to restrain the urge to just hug them and tell them how much I love them. ♥
  • I don't have to make a presentation for class tonight! WOOOOO! I have had to make two a week for the past three weeks and it got a little old. :P Instead I'm drinking whiskey and cranberry, putting together a Liebgott spam (keep an eye out for that!), and considering watching Life or Southland or GenKill or Friday Night Lights or just anything. (Maybe Band of Brothers? TELL ME YOU'RE SHOCKED.) Too much awesome TV! <33
  • Speaking of TV, my thoughts: The latest Bones was SO FRICKIN WONDERFUL. Angela and Hodgins! ♥____♥ White Collar has pretty much redeemed itself to me, thankfully, so I can just enjoy the OT3 pretty. Castle is still perfect all the goddamn time - ugh, SO MUCH LOVE. Friday Night Lights, while lacking a bit of the old resonance while they're trying to develop new characters, continues to be riveting and beautiful television. I love that Timmy's still around, as he and Coach and Tami pretty much make everything worth it. Dollhouse ends tomorrow - I'm heartbroken and resigned, but excited to see what Joss has whipped up. Leverage has been okay - the new gal is fine, but the latest two plots have seemed too hokey for me. I never say no to shirtless Hardison though. ♥ And I... still haven't watched last week's Supernatural. Maybe I should get on that, huh?

And that's that! There are some things that are un-awesome - what the fuck do I do about Dave? - but I'm going to let this post stand on its own and let you just roll around in the AWESOME. And don't forget - lotsa Lieb sooon! :D

How are you my dears? ♥

This weekend just whizzed by! It didn't help that I spent Saturday afternoon in the lab, but still. Whoosh! Bye! In five minutes it's Monday! *hands*

I'm still devouring The Big Bang Theory. Every time the theme song starts up I clap and sing along because it's SO CATCHY. "We built a wall - we built the pyramids!" *dances around* Toward the beginning of the song, does it say "The autotrophs began to drool"??? Ahahaha. OH SHOW. Penny's baffled and fond tolerance is so adorable. I feel you, girl! ♥ I just watched the one where Sheldon gets sick and the guys avoid him at ALL COSTS. Hilarity.

Today I went to see HBP again. In the process of discussing it with my uncle and cousin, I discovered that my uncle and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on some things. He thinks that Twilight is a great movie, while the Harry Potter movies have been largely "yucky" (though he did like this one). UM!?! Uhhhh yeah. *facepalm*

I enjoyed it again, though I still acutely feel the lack of a more climactic ending. (I read the end of book 6 when I got home and I would have LOVED to see that on screen.) Basically I spend a lot of the movie gazing at Hermione with great fondness. She's SO PRETTY. My crush is epic. I know I can't be 100% straight because I crush SO HARD on female characters, and often can't wrench my eyes away from them - Hermione, Faith, Scully, STARBUCK. We watched Razor today (the BSG movie) and Starbuck is relatively minor but she always captivates me! Basically, I tend to fangirl male-male (and sometimes male-female) relationships, but my crushes are very very often on the gorgeous, competent women. Love love. ♥

When I was in the lab on Saturday, Ashley (coworker) showed up and I found out that one of our labmates had been in a terrible motorcycle accident. He was hit by a car and his leg got terribly crushed, as well as a lung punctured. He was in surgery then, but I haven't heard anything since because I don't know him pretty much at all and I don't want to pester anyone, so I suppose I'll find out tomorrow. I hope he's okay. :(

I'm mostly posting just to post. I always feel weird when I go longer than a day without posting! Sorry I really don't have much to say. I am caught up on my flist though, for now!

Oh, one thing I can share! This adorable [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon story: The Chainsaw Job by [livejournal.com profile] annerbhp. It's a short, adorable Leverage story about how they'd deal with the zombiepocalypse. Love!

The interview with Zach Quinto in Playboy is just wonderful. They're actually quite good questions, and ZQ is SO well-spoken! Sometimes when I'm reading fic I think authors overdo it with the grammar and vocab, but no, he actually talks like a particularly well-written academic book! OH ZACHARY. We love you so. ♥ Unsurprisingly, my favorite part of the interview is when he talks about being half-Irish, and how it helps him 1) when he "sidles up to a bottle of Jameson" (UGH A MILLION HEARTS), or 2) when he spent a summer living in Galway. He says "the people in Ireland are amazing". I could not agree any more, ZQ!!! If I ever met him, we would totally bond over the amazingness of Ireland. Sigh, that PLACE. This BOY. <33333 (Plz note icon. I love this GQ motherfucker.)

Relatedly, have a darling Chris Fine/ZQ rec: read, eat, sleep by [livejournal.com profile] stereomer. You know she's awesome, so what are you waiting for? :)

So tonight I finished watching the first season of Leverage. I haven't talked about it much (at all?), but I started watching it a couple months ago with my best friend. A few thoughts )

Is there any good fic for this show? I definitely would not object to some well-done Elliot/Hardison, or definitely Hardison/Parker, they are SO SWEET. Or a party for everyone perhaps? :D Just curious if there's anything out there!

I think the show I'm going to tackle next is BONES. I've caught several episodes on TV, and every time I find myself making awwwwww noises at Booth and Brennan, and I really like the supporting characters, so yes. Looking forward to it! \o/ I'm also approaching the end of season 4 of Six Feet Under - ugh, I LOVE this show. I love it SO MUCH. It's dark in content all the time, and everyone's fucked up, but somehow it's not depressing, just eye-opening. The characters are just so... alive, which is a wonderful irony. Claire is 10000% my favorite, she is amazing. Sigh, FISHERS. ♥

Happy Mother's Day!! I know there's a lot of strong, awesome moms on my flist, and I just want to say I respect you so hard, and you are all amazing. I hope you had a lovely day. ♥ I sent my mommy a card and a gift certificate for a 30 minute massage, so I hope she enjoys that :)

My day was pretty intense. My friend Dierdre has been single-handedly planning and running this charity drive called Dump N Run, where we put boxes in all the dorms and public buildings, and students put stuff they dont want anymore in them as they're moving out of college. We collect all the stuff, sort it, and sell it in a big community yard sale. So all last week I went around gathering boxes almost every day, lugging stuff to my car and dragging it into the sports center where we were storing it. Yesterday I worked for 6 hours gathering the last of the stuff (it took me and Matt 4 trips in his Jeep from ONE dorm building) and helping to sort it in the gym. We ended up with unbelievable piles of stuff - a couch, some armchairs, several desks, a couple bookcases and dressers, a kitchen table set, hundreds of pounds of clothes of all sorts, four entire tables full of food (like soup, oatmeal, granola bars, those kinds of things), four tables of shoes, and lots of miscellania. So today I woke up at 8 to help Dierdre make and put out signs, then the sale started at 12. By 11, people were already lining up, and at 12 there were at least 50 people in line, probably more. When we opened, it was a flood! Within 45 minutes, 90% of the stuff was gone, leaving mostly crap. We made - wait for it - at least $1800. Yay!!!! I was so proud of Dierdre, and glad that I'd taken part, but oh boy I'm exhausted. I have a bad back, so the six hours yesterday of standing and lifting completely did a number on it, and even ibuprofen and icing isn't really doing anything. Bah. Oh well, it was a good thing to do, and the money's going to the local Domestic Violence Services and a food kitchen. Yay!

Michelle and I came home and collapsed around 1:30. We watched two episodes of Leverage to relax, as you do! Elliot, I love your FACE, and OH HARDISON!!! How are they so amazing? Parker is absolutely growing on me too, especially after the episode with the orphans. "We're more than a team." AWWW team. *draws hearts* My main stumbling block with this show is that I just... don't like the two older leads, Timothy Hutton especially. He is frequently ridiculous in the bad way and almost never funny and I spend most of his screen time rolling my eyes. But whatever! Little team kids! A little crazy and dorky and badass and snarky! A millllllion hearts.

We then got a craving for Christian Kane so we watched two random Angel episodes, first Disharmony because it was on the disc (HARMONY *hearts*) and then... the one with the Evil Hand!!!1!!1, I forget what it's called. Now of course I'm listening to Kane because Christan could croon to me ALL DAY, unf. Where is his next album?! Sigh.

Michelle made tasty pasta with salmon and pesto sauce, and then she went to bed, so now I'm just chillin on my couch doing NOTHING. This would be even more awesome if my back wasn't killing me, but as it is it's pretty damn awesome. \o/ I am almost a million percent done with college! YAY!

La la la I'll stop rambling at you. Maybe I'll finish the SPN fic I've been reading - I know! Amazing! :D
