Thank you [livejournal.com profile] crediniaeth for the adorable Peep bunny virtual gift!! I am nomming on it happily. :D You are so sweet! <33333

I just finished watching the Buffy series finale (well, last two episodes) (for, to clarify, the 80 billionth time). So many tears!!! ;___; Willow's transformation is still one of the most striking images I have ever seen. "Oh. My. Goddess." SRSLY TEARS. But man, my Buffy/Angel OTP heart still beats so. fucking. hard. When he appears and her face is just glowing and they kiss all sexy and beautiful and just kind of gaze at each other for a while? sldkfjlksdjf my heart grows like 20 sizes. And then I rewind and rewatch and it grows ANOTHER 20 sizes. Seriously, I love them with alllll of me. ♥___♥ The cookie dough speech is so ridic but also so lovely, sigh. I love themmm. I also love Faith and her mountain of issues, and how Robin starts to help her through them with a bit of tough love, they're very much great together. And Giles and Xander and Dawn and Spiiiiike and Anya and Andrew and LITTLE FELICIA DAY and everyone! Man, I kind of really really love this show. Still #1 in my book.

Also tonight, I received a most spontaneous invite from Francisco to go to the movies with him and Steffen and Kate, and I was very excited about this! Because I have been home and quarantined and sad and unsocial. So we went to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D, an animated film from Dreamworks. It was very, very adorable, and included a lot of awesome dragons. It was kind of extremely weird in that the human characters were supposed to be Vikings, but the adults had Scottish accents while the children were American (seriously? um) so I had to seriously handwave that, but a major benefit of the Scottish thing is that CRAIG FERGUSON IS ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS. I had no idea and I totally called it during the movie! I looooove him ridiculous amounts. <3 So yes, another fun, lovely movie from those wacky animation folks!

Then I kind of really wanted to have some time with Francisco and watch either Inglourious Basterds or Band of Brothers, both of which we've been wanting to do for a while. But a girl in our program had organized a night out at a bar, and both Francisco and Steffen wanted to go, so I said okay. We went to the bar, I couldn't even drink cause I'm on penicillin, and we just kind of hung out for a while. It was nice enough, but I just don't feel super duper comfortable in that friends group, at least not like I can let go and totally be myself. And without any alcohol at all, that was kind of accentuated. So I stuck around for about an hour and a half, but eventually I just left. I was kind of over it. It was one of those unfortunate cases of feeling kind of lonely in a crowd. I don't know if Francisco's uncomfortable around me right now or what, because of the whole lab issue thing, and it's all just kind of awkward. One way or another, things will be resolved on Tuesday (Francisco and I are both meeting with Jason separately), and I'm kind of scared.

I am currently listening to Backstreet Boys thanks to yet another video of Marines dancing and being ridic. I think this is my favorite find of the whole day (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wordsalone!):

And I'll leave you with that. ♥

The future )

Lolol, "television program"? What is this, the 60s? Lulz.

Anywho. WHAT AN IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION SIGH. I'm going to go with the old tried and true: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy was the first show I ever got involved with in that way where you keep buying DVDs and watch episodes over and over and know certain ones by heart and fall ass over teakettle in love with characters and relationships and spend most of your waking hours thinking about one Faith Lehane, cough. Buffy began my still-burning love affair with Joss (the boss) and introduced me to numerous actors that continue to be Relevant To My Interests (Eliza, Boreanaz, Alyson, James, Nathan, to name just a few). But far beyond that, it introduced me to a new way of storytelling (particularly through this medium), the heartwrenching drama wrapped in a swirl of incredibly clever humor, the fantasy mixed with all too real emotion. It made me cry like my heart was going to come out of my chest. It made me feel, and it STILL makes me feel, whether it be heartache or joy.

If you're a Buffy fan, I highly recommend you follow [livejournal.com profile] dailybtvs. The comm runner is currently on a S2 kick and it's just a marvelous burst of nostalgia every day. They were so YOUNG and DARLING. <3333

I've got the songs from last night's Glee, if anyone wants them! (Well, the ones I wanted to purchase - aka, not Finn's songs, sorry). I'm a little bummed that the show didn't exploit the concept a little more (say, by having Puck and Mercedes sing together, UM DEAD BY AWESOME UNFFF) but there's lots of Lea and Matthew showing off their pipes. There's also the last song from Wheels in there.

Ballads!

I popped by the Fox website for Glee by accident (trying to get to the IMDB page) and I spotted a blurb on the side that said "Lea, Cory, and Mercedes talk about Glee..." and I was like UM WHAT?! DO YOU MEAN AMBER????? JFC! Metric fuckton of fail there, Fox! *facepalm*

I hear there's a show about, idk, demon hunting on tonight, or something? (I'M SO EXCITED!!!!)

I've been slowly working my way through Freaks & Geeks, and I saw the episode Looks and Books last night. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Probably my favorite one so far. I love the crises of confidence that both Lindsay and Sam go through, and I love their mini-journeys to find who they really should be - which is exactly who they were at the beginning of the episode, just confident and content with it. Lindsay's reunion with the burnouts was so sweet. While Nick is an adorable bumbler and I heart him, I think Daniel is my favorite - he just has these moments of exquisite vulnerability, and you can really see the genius of James Franco percolating within that rebellious, devil-may-care exterior. He's amazing.

I really like Kris Allen's album! It's charming, easy listening, and I'm fond. But I CAN'T WAIT to have my hands on Adam's album so I can listen to it over and over. IT'S SO SPARKLY. I AM DAZZLED.

But do you know what I'm REALLY stoked for?! THOSE CHEMICAL ROMANTICS! OMGGGGG. The AP cover is hilarious - they all look like they've got Merlin eyes, or something, it's super creepy. But THEY'RE ON A MAGAZINE COVER! OUR BOYS ARE BAAAAAACK! *flails and wriggles* Yaaaaaaay. :DDDD

What a weird and bizarrely frustrating dream. I was at some kind of party of some sort (I think I was touring somewhere with my college choir? and the party was for us?), and randomly there was... Rose McGowan! Wtaf, surprise!Rose McGowan? I haven't even watched Charmed in years! So anyway, I tried to get a picture with her and my camera was being a bitch for a million reasons, not flashing at the right time, zooming in too far, just doing all kinds of wrong things. There were other girls too and their cameras weren't working either. Rose was totally sweet and gracious but it was SO FRUSTRATING! And then, suddenly, the British Prime Minister was on a couch in the room! ????!?!? Gordon Brown, right? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE. So I tried to get his autograph but I couldn't decide what he should write on and it was VERY WEIRD. My brain is a strange, strange place. o.O

That's all! Pancakes and maybe and episode of Buffy for me (because I CRAAAAAVE), and then WATCHMEN! Yay!

ETA: I just watched the "Angel" episode from S1 Buffy. *flap flap* MY HEART!!! Original OTP of doooom and pain and love and beauty, siiiigh. I love how Willow is the original Buffy/Angel shipper, she's such a wonderful best friend. And I sometimes forget that one of the things I love most about Buffy/Angel is how I fall in love with Buffy through Angel's eyes, every time. She's a flawed girl, but he loves her so passionately that I can't help but feel it too. And I don't need any help loving Angel, haha. SIGH SHOW. <3333 I even uploaded an icon in tribute! I don't have nearly enough happy het couple icons. Although this one is laced with TRAGEDY AND HEARTBREAK, but what Buffy/Angel image isn't??

A list.

Gerard: forever my favorite geek.

Mikeyway: forever my second favorite geek.

Grad school: terrifying and thrilling all at once. I found a guy I REALLY want to work with at Michigan. His research is into new ways of tackling neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimers. Amazing. (Monica and other geeks on my flist, you should check out his website.)

Two days ago: My journal's 4 year anniversary! Huzzah! *throws confetti*

Merlin: Adorkable and gay and inexplicably still addicting. Nom nom.

Radiohead: AWESOME. I know I'm late on this bandwagon, whatever. I'm in love with OK Computer.

Michelle: My favorite bestest. ILHER.

Aldi: Awesome German grocery store that I happened to spot here and remembered from Dublin. REALLY CHEAP. Amazing A+ find <3333

Being too broke to afford textbooks: Sucky.

Angel and Buffy: Forever and eternally OTP. Watched "I Will Remember You" today. Sobbed like baby.

Friday Night Lights 3x13: Very very sad. It felt pretty... final, really. There's room to move forwards, but it also feels like a chapter has truly been closed. Timmy: still my favorite. Coach and Tami: still awesome. Sigh. Show of my heart. :(

Battlestar 4x11: Absolutely brutal. Sheezus. If that's what we're to expect for the rest of the season, oh dear lord. I'm scared yet super duper excited.

This is me being too lazy to write a real entry, and also procrastinating on going to bed. But there's only so long that can go on. Toodles!

So I was pondering about why, of all my OTPs, Sam and Dean stand head and shoulders above the rest. Especially in light of Croatoan.

A bit of rambling. Spoilers for Buffy, Queer as Folk, Firefly, Serenity (DONT CLICK CASSI), and Boondock Saints. )

*draws eleventy billion hearts*

And now, I have a poll for you all! The absolutely wondrous [livejournal.com profile] wendy bought me a rename token, and I need to make up my mind on how to use it! I have two choices right now. The first is "taivaallinen," which means "heavenly" in Finnish and is just something I found while poking around dictionaries and such. I think it's an absolutely gorgeous word. The other is "exsequor," which is Latin for "to follow to the grave," and basically after Croatoan (see everything I just rambled about!) it feels ridiculously appropriate for Sam and Dean, and I kinda vaguely want my name to be a tribute to them.

So! Help me decide!

So [livejournal.com profile] joyfulgirl41 linked to a cool website wherein these girls (I think?) blog about country acts that aren't mainstream but are very talented and should be more well known. Or something like that. But they love Kane, which is awesome, and so I'm linking to this article which is very funny (it reminds me of TWoP in its style - not the cynicism, but the humor) and just an ode to our favorite boys. -> http://www.hardcore-troubadours.com/2006/06/12/19

This weekend promises to be all that and a bag of chips. I have no idea why I just said that, but it's a fun saying, don't you think? ANYwho, Jeff and the kids are taking off to visit his grandparents until Sunday afternoon, so it's just me and Meg! Girls' weekend, YAY! We plan to start Buffy season 3 (which she hasn't seen most of, despite being a big Buffy fan and having seen most of the other seasons. I am truly baffled and dismayed by this, and thus am going to remedy it) and watch as much of it as we can, YAY. I am ridiculously excited because, hello, FAITH! And also the whole season just rocks my socks right off my feet. Also part of this weekend will be beef stew for dinner at Anne and Franklin's house, which will be awesome, and watching some World Cup! And THEN, Sunday, I'm going to see Theory of a Deadman! YAY!

In addition, I am so excited for Winchester Con that I really could throw up! :D That should seriously be the motto for the con, heeee. There are FIFTY FOUR people ALREADY PAID, and even MORE who have yet to pay, and OMG. I AM SO EXCITED, GUYS. Nan posted the icons I made at the con comm *bounces* Yay for fangirls!!!
