exsequar: (SN Boys not the end of us)
I haven't been around my computer much today, but when I was? I've been spending my time reading through all of my old Supernatural entries, from the end of season 2 backwards.

One word: SIGH.

An irony: I was super optimistic about season 3, but terrified about season 2. And we all know how THAT panned out.

It's been a really bittersweet walk down memory lane. My participation in Supernatural fandom was so rich and layered and joyous. There were dozens of people around who were ready to engage me in thoughtful conversations about the Winchesters at any time of day. After every episode I made an epic and analytical assessing post - I was thinking every single time, about every single nuance of Sam and Dean. I would watch an episode as it aired, download it at 1 AM or whenever it came online, watch it again in the morning before class, and usually watch it again when I got home. I was completely enthralled by these characters and the fandom, and I miss that joy so much. I've had joy in fandoms since, but never one with such depth and texture. (I was also MUCH more interesting then. No wonder my readership's gone way down!)

My favorite post that I've stumbled upon is a thing I started where I just had people leave comments with Supernatural quotes. We ended up with about 100, and I don't know about other people, but I'm pretty sure I came up with the majority of mine from memory. It's a great blast from the past, all of the highlights of seasons 1 and 2, so take a look if you're feeling nostalgic like me!

Fitting perfectly into this mood, this weekend I get to see MONA!!!!!!!!! [livejournal.com profile] mona1347 is my big sister, my mentor, my guiding light, and I met her through Supernatural fandom. ♥ I'm going down to DC for my friend Thomas's birthday, then I'm staying the night and going to Mona's place for lunch and some hi-def Supernatural nostalgia. I am exceedingly, exceedingly excited! \o/

I'm trying to decide what old episode I want to watch right now. I think I've decided on Playthings.

Oh, today we went to the mall to buy a present for Thomas, and I ended up picking up the first season of Mad Men for $20! Impulse buy ftw! I've been meaning to watch the show for a while and this was much easier than downloading. I also got a squishy keychain of the Watchmen doomsday clock, yellow with a splash of human bean juice. Awesome.
exsequar: (SGA - I will use your dead hands!)
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347 and [livejournal.com profile] immoralilly and I spent an exquisite weekend devouring a lot of SGA S1 and the Doctor Who finale \o/ The festivities also included:

  • Mona's cat Beanie taking a fascination to my FEET, apparently partially because I wiggle my toes unconsciously while watching TV or some such, and she seemed very entertained by my spazzy reactions to her spazzy attempts at play - I don't do well with animals making surprising movements. It's a thing. It's usually only a problem with dogs, but Beanie is one hyperactive cat. I hear she already misses my retardedness, the dear :P
  • A trip to Dupont Circle, the gay corner of DC, which was lovely! \o/ Mona and I chilled in a lil gay bookstore that had amusing greeting cards, sexy photo books of naked twinky men, and all sorts of entertainment. We also hung out at the bead store, in which Mona tried not to put things in her mouth, and I picked out purty purty beads for Mona to make me a bracelet, which I am wearing and which is GORGEOUS :D Thank you honey! *smish* Then we had a truly delish dinner at a little bookstore/bar/restauraunt and were served by a deeply gorgeous young man with an accent to die for and no concept of personal space. Mona overheard him discussing a man with his fellow waiter and exclaiming "but he's straight!" \o/
  • Meeting Mona's Boy, who is super fab. He was deeply amused by our squeaky flailing during Doctor Who. Heehee.
  • A trip to Georgetown to get some nummy breakfast bagels, during which Robin and I just happened to catch the very last point of Wimbledon. It was very amusing and random. Yay Federer! Even though I don't watch tennis ^_^
  • I WILL USE YOUR DEAD HANDS TO OPERATE THE CONTROLS!!!1!11 (hee)
  • The mysterious disappearance of the bag of chocolate pretzels (and the cookies, by the way girls!). Quick, someone call Sam and Dean! Mona has a hypoglycemic poltergeist!

And basically it was the epitome of super fun! \o/ I made the trip in both directions contentedly yelling along to The Academy Is... and Tegan and Sara with no missteps, and there is no bad there :D And I might get to go back at the end of the month! YAY!

Good times, good times. ^_^
exsequar: (SGA McShep signal of gay!)
I am at Mona's apartment! \o/ I had a minor kerfluffle with a DC circle road thingy on the way down, but I got here with otherwise no incident, yay! Mona's Boy is very funny and fun, it's great to finally meet him. Mona and I just spent a good chunk of time watching Farscape and Stargate Atlantis music videos, and we have grand plans for the rest of the weekend (read: shopping and quality television)! Now it is 2 AM and we are going to SLEEEEP.

YAY I HAZ A MONA! *joy*

I am practically combusting with joy and flail. For two reasons! Both of which were brought to my attention by the very lovely [livejournal.com profile] _sin_attract!

ONE: The cover of the next Buffy comic IS POSSIBLY THE HOTTEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAITH!

TWO: There is a Serenity screening in DC in two weeks that I CAN GO TO! And I was going to go to DC to visit MONA anyway and now I can do BOTH and we can go see the BIG DAMN MOVIE together and it's pretty much THE MOST EXCITING THING EVER EVER. EVER.

BWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

*twirls until dizzy*

(Also, I am reading Danny/Rusty fic. It is GLORIOUS. Thank you to those who provided links ♥♥)

It feels like I haven't posted in forever! Of course I check and my last post is yesterday morning, but that's LJ-forever, okay? Hee.

I'm in love with the My Chemical Romance album. I know I'm late to the party, but whatever. SO MUCH FUN. They're so cheerful about all these awful things! My favorite is "Dead!" because they bop along and sing joyfully about this: "Haaaaave you heard the news that you're dead?? No one ever had much nice to say, I think I never liked you anyway!" Heehee. My other favorite is "Teenagers." These guys can certainly jam!

Today is the birthday of our very own MONA!! I already wished her happy birthday in her present comm [livejournal.com profile] slutty_thatway, but it bears repeating - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONA! My life would be void and listless without you. *mwah*

Our fandom is simply rolling in the joy lately. We've got:

  • Three
  • New
  • Interviews
  • (Jsquared "Blood Brothers"; JA and JDM being adorable; and Jared and Jensen as cowboys, respectively)

  • Promo
  • Pics
  • (2x14 (SPOILERY) and 2x15, respectively)

  • And THREE director's cuts for 2x13!

Other highlights from the fandom include:

  • An awesome Animated Supernatural/J2 moodtheme by [livejournal.com profile] caugraphics
  • A super fun Jsquared music vid by [livejournal.com profile] frances_veritas
  • A gorgeous Jsquared manip/wallpaper by [livejournal.com profile] lost_witness

And I'm sure there's been much fantastic fic produced, as USUAL, but I haven't had any time to read it! *woes* I suppose this is time to apprise you all of my situation - I HATE my schedule this semester. With the fire of a thousand suns. It gives me no time to breathe, and most importantly no time to keep up with YOU lovely people. I'm less than three weeks into it, and already I'm feeling frayed at the edges. It's terrible, and terrifying. I hope I can make it through this semester mentally intact - not guaranteed at all.

Meanwhile, I'm making awesome plans for the FUTURE, and it's making me want to time jump by about 4 months. I have that research position this summer, which will be so cool, and then DUBLIN NEXT YEAR OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't capslock about that ENOUGH because, I just... I'm speechless with joy and amazement that I am getting this opportunity! I spoke to my study abroad advisor about the specifics for the first time on Monday! He gave me a hard copy of the application (*squees into fists* It's REAL!) and I have to start filling it out soon, as well as getting a transcript and recommendation. The details of what courses I'm going to take are complicated, and it looks like it's going to be difficult to work out, but SO WHAT. I really... don't care. Because it WILL work and I will be in DUBLIN. *giddy sigh*

So all that? That excitement? That's the only thing that's keeping me sane and optimistic right now. The day to day drudgery of this semester makes me want to shoot myself in the face. *headdesk*

Well, that and Winchesters. IS IT THURSDAY YET??
  • exsequar: (Default)
I'm STILL flailing about this episode, seriously guys. *squeaks!* I woke up this morning and immediately started rewatching it (AGAIN - I actually stayed up til 4:30 to download and rewatch it last night, heh) but my stupid brother called and said he needed to be picked up, so I put the ep on my iPod and listened to it on the drive to get him! haha. I win for fangirly lameness \o/

During the episode last night, I was holding a wooden colored pencil, and by the end of the ep the end was covered in bitemarks. It's really funny :D

So I got to flailing with Mona about DEAN and SAM and their EPIC LOVE, and I wanted to post it... for fun, and to preserve our squeeful thoughts on the matter. Forgive the numerous typos, we were EXCITED okay? :D

    Spoilers for Hunted )

I LOVE THE WINCHESTER BOYS! GYAH! *squirms*
exsequar: (SN Jared makes me combust)
Happy thing the first! I got a 98.5 on my Bio test! YAY! *twirls in circles* This is a GREAT relief, because I think I had an A- up til this point, and... let's just say that would hurt my GPA (I know, i know *dodges rotten vegetables*) but I just haven't been TRYING in this class because it's exactly what I did in AP Bio and it's not all that challenging, while organic chem has been taking all my energy. So I haven't been performing to my capabilities. But this test is going to go a long way to rectifying that! Yay!

Happy thing the second! Our second semester schedules were released today, and I got all my first choice classes! *dances happily* (Oh, I just noticed, I got my second choice physics section, with the worse teacher - ah well!) And most importantly, I GOT VAN ARMAN FOR ORGO AGAIN!!!! He's the ONLY good orgo teacher, and I think I would shoot myself if I got anyone else. YAYE! *glees* So here's my schedule for next semester:

    MWF 8-8:50 Organic Chemistry 2
    MWF 9-9:50 Physics 1
MWF 11-12:05 - Probability and Stats
    M 1:30-4:20 - Physics lab
    W 12:30 - 4:20 - Organic chem lab
TTh 12-1:20 - America in Black and White

Happy thing the third! I get to go home tomorrow, YAYE! And I found a ride with my friend Alyssa, so my dad no longer has to drive down here and then back in one day! *twirls* It'll be nice to have a few days off, and see my daddy family :)

Okay, now we've just got normal things (not unhappy, just not squeeful :P)

Thing the fourth: Five people have friended me in the past day! o.O Is this LJ just being weird and releasing a bunch of notifications at once, or did ya'll really all friend me just now? Well, regardless, welcome to the newcomers! If you want to drop a comment and let me know how you found me, why you friended me, a bit about yourself, etc, I'd love to chat with you :)

Thing the fifth: I would sell my firstborn for an animated icon of the Impala skidding in the SOON promo. Really, I would. I'm going to vaguely try to attempt it myself, but ImageReady is a bitch to deal with on this computer, so if anyone else could do it with more ease, I'd really appreciate it :D

Thing the sixth: I donno if ya'll just missed it or WHAT, but I uploaded videos from Wincon of Susan and Jaida at the Dear Dean panel, and they are HILARIOUS. Go, download them! Shoo!

Thing the seventh: This conversation with Mona amused me!

    [livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: i miss talking to you :(
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347: Aw dude, ME TOO.
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347: Except with you. I don't miss me.
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347: I'm with me all day
    [livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: Hee.
[livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: There's like, this mona shaped hole in me!
    [livejournal.com profile] mona1347: AWWW
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347: Well DON'T GO FILLING IT WITH ANYONE YOU WANT
[livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: I WONT! IT WOULD BE AN INSULT TO YOUR MEMORY
    [livejournal.com profile] mona1347: DAMN SKIPPY
[livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: I also wont make a deal with a demon for you though
    [livejournal.com profile] starsouls1013: Sorry :(
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347: That's okay. I understand there are limits.

    Thing the eight: ICON! *thud*
exsequar: (SN Boys keepin it in the family!)
[livejournal.com profile] mona1347 and I are SUCH FANGIRLS. Like this is NEWS, but we had a particularly fangirlish spree the other night. I thought I'd share. I was so GIDDY doing this. Gah. We just squealed about moments in which the boys LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH. I mean, I know that's like, every second, but you know what I mean. So here we go!

Part 1 of the madness )

    Part 2! )

Part 3! (It needs to be divided up, it's LONG) )

WE SO WIN OMG. (That went on for an HOUR. Just... *FLAILS*)
