(no subject)

poisontaster tagged me for this meme, the 6 Things About Me meme. And since I have time to kill...
1. I am not a fan of History (the school subject) at all, but one of my favorite classes/teachers of all time was my US History class in 8th grade. I got a D on the first homework assignment; I cried. I got an A on my term paper (first long paper I'd ever written) and the History prize. That man motivated me like no other.
2. My favorite person in the world is my daddy. (Funny bit of trivia - he now teaches (elementary school science) in the same room that I had that history class in)
3. I feel like I am a terribly selfish person. Random bouts of generosity just... aren't very common for me. And I hate it. It's something I'm really trying to work on, especially showing people that I appreciate what they do for me by making gestures, and also trying to remember my friends' birthdays better. I think I'm improving, but there's a ways to go.
4. I find it extremely entertaining to actually make my eyes go like this: o.O It makes me giggle. And looks slightly frightening.
5. I want my first kiss more than almost anything else.
6. I look back on my high school years with so much gratitude and affection. Not so much for my personal life (I was rather severely depressed (in the non-clinical sense - I was never diagnosed or anything) for the entirety of junior year) but for the academic experience. I LOVED my teachers, with very few exceptions. I want to go back and visit school primarily to see my English and Biology teachers, not really to see any of my old friends. They supported, educated, and motivated me through the last two years especially, and I would not be the person I am without them. Not just those two teachers either, a whole bunch of them. Only for Mrs. Kweskin would I have ENJOYED writing a 26-page senior thesis on Tess of the D'Urbervilles, or a detailed analysis of every significant use of the word "heart" in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (for the record, the word appeared 106 times (I counted) but I probably only talked about 80 of them). Just... yeah. I am so appreciative.
So that's it! Pretty boring huh.
