YAY NEW LAYOUT! *twirls*

I was itching to put Danny and Rusty on my journal, but I was angsting about the prospect of abandoning my darling boys (Winchesters and McShep). Solution? Rotating headers! \o/ I knew it would take me years to make full blown separate headers for each pairing, so I just decided for simple and elegant - pick a picture of each pairing and doll it up a bit. So that's what I've done!

There are five different headers: Sam/Dean, John/Rodney, Danny/Rusty, Kara/Lee, and John/Aeryn. Yummmmy! You may notice that the coloring varies a LOT :P I made the Danny/Rusty one first, and I loved how it turned out, clean and bright. But then the other pictures I chose, with the exception of Sam&Dean, had dark backgrounds and that same coloring wouldn't work. I stumbled on that gorgeous multicolored texture in my files (by peoplemachines) and loved it, so the rest became vibrant and colorful. I loved them all, so I did my best to come up with a color scheme that would fit! Black background was a given, but the inside I wanted to keep bright and lively, so I went with white with red and blue accents. Too much black would have been depressing!

Omg! These headers are brilliant! What an excellent way to pimp your multi-fandomitude! :D

(On a more assy selfishy kinda note...Did you ever get as chance to see my new SGA vid to "Evening on the Ground?" I just wanted to know what you thought since you're the one who introduced me to the band and all. ;))

Thank you so much! :D I was monofannish for so long and had a long procession of Winchester headers, but I'm starting to spread out the love - my journal should reflect that! :)

I did indeed see the vid! I felt that the song worked well for the character of Sheppard, but (and I'm going to be honest here, because I think you deserve and expect that from me) the vid felt rushed and choppy relative to the music. That song to me is extremely organic and flowing, and the rapid editing felt distracting. I understand why you did it, because the music certainly moves apace, but it didn't give me enough time to process and appreciate the connection of the words to John's story. I think the speed of the song might have been better captured by using internal motion from the clips themselves. I hope I'm not offending you, but I don't believe in praise for praise's sake, and you did want to know what I thought!

Thank you very VERY much for your honest feedback. ;) I think there's actually not enough of it out there. It makes me a little sad of course (and now I'm being honest with you) not just because the aesthetics didn't mesh with your vision of the song, but because I took it upon myself to sort of make a better video than that SPN vid. It's like a sparring session. I wanted to utilize my own vision for the song.

But anyway, thanks again fro showing it to me in the first place. I really am in love with Iron & Wine because of you. ;)

I think part of the problem is that I'm speaking from a very broad impression of the video. I can't rewatch while I'm at work to give you more detailed feedback. It was not a total failure by any means - you are a very skilled vidder. Another problem is that I have that SPN video deeply ingrained in my mind - it's PART of the song to me, and I kept seeing flashes of moments from it while I was watching yours. So I'm afraid I'm not the best person to audience it too!

Believe me, I've gotten MUCH harsher criticism when I was at film school. And I dished out some harsh criticism myself. It helps you learn and be better.

And you're very much not obliged to rewatch it or anything. I was just curious because I never heard from you, and I thought you would have been curious to see it simply because if our positions were reversed, I'd certainly be curious. ;)
