Moar pictures of fussballers! :D? My awesome friends are running a small Champions League fantasy league, and we all decided to do picspams of our teams. So I'm crossposting here!

You'll notice that I'm low on the Spain contingent - that's because several of the people in my league are Spain fangirls, and each player can only be owned by one person. So I just stayed away from that fray for the most part. :P But I managed to nab some ~Germans~ (really just Müncheners), including THE BEST GERMAN! My team is pretty crazily international though, coming from all kinds of national teams and clubs. Fun times! I think it's got a good chance of getting me reasonable points. I'm really excited for the whole thing to get started! :D

I became fond of Drogba by reading the amazing blog Dirty Tackle, in which he features in the posts about "Random musings of footballers before they fall asleep...". It's absolutely fucking disgraceful hilarious and I highly recommend the whole blog if you've somehow missed it. Anyway, I am amused by him, but also impressed because he kind of ended a civil war in the Ivory Coast. So - I'm very proud to have this guy on my team. And I think he might score some goals too?

Berba also just makes me lol because of Dirty Tackle, with really no mitigating factors. I just read about how he played "strip football" (foosball, really) with a model for a photoshoot and then had sex with her afterward. Um. Classy. But this persona has been transformed BRILLIANTLY into a column called Dimitar Berbatov is... The Contintental. It's based on a hilarious Christopher Walken SNL skit you can find on Hulu. :D So basically, I've got Berba-baby on my team for the lolz. Uh, and the goalz.


I mean.... lol!





Berba + Rooney = too much gross to handle TBH. I could never be a ManUtd fan for that reason alone. :P

I LOVE IT. And really, you've picked yourself a fantastic FF team with a good spread of players from different teams that all have done well in the CL in past year.

Also, I think your defense will do well. ;) I don't know why, but I find that Carvalho looks better now that he's playing for RM, maybe it's because he's cut his hair since then or maybe it's because I'm largely biased...

AND CONTENTO. I've never noticed him before as I've never exclusively watched Bayern games, but he's cute. :D Dark hair, dark eyes... and he can pull off that lederhosen quite nicely, lmao. Definitely a keeper!

Contento is taaaasty! An Italian-German, hence all the darkness and angularity and mmmmm, pretty. :D He doesn't smile a whole lot but I really like him on the field and I hope he'll do well for me! ♥ (I would have gone for bb Lahm OF COURSE but another girl in the league reeeally wanted him and I was not about to get into a bidding war for a *defender*, lol.)

Thank you! :D I am quite pleased with how broadly I flung my net - I think it's exciting to be invested in the success of so many teams. Eventually they'll come into conflict with each other but I'm okay with that. Should be a fun time! :D

OT, but re: Marcelo & Robinho. They definitely looked creepily alike when they both played for Real Madrid, but Marcelo > Robinho. Robinho's kind of... an ass, lol. You should read his latest interview on moving from City to AC Milan. But Marcelo is just silly, here's one of your defenders, haha:

It seems Italian-German is a very, very nice combination... ;D I hope he does well too -- not only because he's on your FF team, but because he's on your favorite team. :) Awww, well obviously everyone wants Lahm! But sometimes the best defense is offense... and you have a strong offense. ;)

LOL did any of your friends pick more than... 4 players from the same team? Because going back on what you said about conflict regarding having a FF team with such a variety of players... it would be pretty amazing if someone managed to pick a FF team with a lot of players from one team and that one team ended up winning the CL. :p

Yeah that's pretty much what I've figured out, and I think it's why no one picked him in my league, haha. Awww that gif is amazing, I love my widdle defender! :D

Contento is kind of who we're relying on to make our left back position nice and solid now that the best left back in the world (LAAAAHM) has moved over to the right! Contento and Ribéry looked really good together in a couple of the early Bayern games, so I'm hoping that they'll make that into a nice productive chemistry down the right side. Er, /Bayern talk. (I'm kind of tipsy right now so apologies for rambling tendencies haha)

My league has a rule that you can only have 4 players from one team and 7 players from one national league (EPL, Bundesliga, etc). So no. :) I like that it makes everything more diverse. It would be silly to have your fantasy team's hopes rise and fall by one team's fortunes - that's not fantasy then! :) Mine doesn't really *rely* on Bayern per se, but it will benefit mightily from Bayern's success - I'm hoping for lots of goals from Olic, and lots of assists (plus goals hopefully!) from mah Bastian. <3
