Oh. Oh oh oh. This may actually be my favorite icon of all time. The cropping, how Sam's almost inserted into Dean, and the pictures chosen... so beautiful. The colors, the textures, the complexity that doesn't overwhelm the images. And the text. I loved the icon before I realized I KNOW where that text is from - a song I absolutely love, "Almost Happy" by K's Choice. That just adds another layer of my love for this icon. And the sentiment - "I can love the whole of you" sums up Sam and Dean for me. They can love the whole of each other because they KNOW the whole of each other - they've been through it all, seen each other's weak spots and flaws and strengths and every single nitty gritty detail, so their love is whole and complete.

(I'm having to resist the urge to cheat, cause I'm forced to skip over so many icons I love!) ANYway, I'm ashamed to say this is my only House icon (SPN has eaten my icon slots, I swear) but having a LOL icon is always useful, and House is so cute when he's laughing because he just can't help it sometimes. Even his facade cracks from time to time!

HEE! My only icon left from the LOVE that was World Cup. There's a video of this moment that I have favorited on YouTube, because you know what happens? This guy scores a goal, then he runs off in glee, avoids all his teammates on the field, and makes a total BEE LINE for ONE GUY standing on the sidelines. I mean, he had eyes (and arms and legs and rest of himself) for NO ONE ELSE. He GLOMPS him and they go down and other people leap on top of them and I would bet my life there is a brief rough snog under that pile. It's fucking hot. I love how this one is composed, with the boys back to back, heading into the pit of doom, yes, but together. It may be the end of the world, but through it all they'll be together. I use this whenever discussing the apocalyptic awesomeness of the last two episodes of S1. I also love its grittiness - fits the subject perfectly.

Oh, Winchesters. I love this line combined with this moment, it's perfect. This moment is Dean's dreams coming true right before his eyes (look at his woobie tears! *pets him*) and it's so bittersweet because we all know what follows. The black and white is perfect, and the font is nice and subtle. Gorgeous.

So I'm applying again at good_fanicons. I think I'm a glutton for punishment. They've rejected me three times before! *facepalm* But while putting together my app, I looked at my last app and I really really think I've improved - I still like those icons, but objectively I don't think I would have accepted me either. Now I do a lot more experimenting with colors and composition and stuff. So. I have a chance, I think, maybe? I just think getting into there would get me a wider audience and more exposure. I signed up for 10variations (which you should all do! *pimp pimp pimp*) which is a challenge where you take one image and make 10 icons with it, based on a set of criteria. It's quite challenging and very interesting to see how many things one image can turn into! I did my first challenge on a picture of our dearest Norm (who else?).
