Dec. 24th, 2009 12:15 pmSo busy busy times, but the weekend went on to be just as delightful for the rest of it! Greta and Gold Motel were truly truly delightful, and I had such an amazing time with the Chicago crowd. I'll maybe post a recap and some pictures and videos, but since it's Christmas and there's a lot of family stuff going on, well. Who knows when I'll have time! I've been spending most of my free time rewatching Band of Brothers in Crazy Hi Def and flailsqueaking over Nixters and Speirs and Lip and Doc Roe and Buck and um. I love them a little bit, okay?
My dad and brother and sister arrived from Connecticut yesterday, yaaaay. :D We all hung out at my uncle's last night, which was lots of fun, then my sister spent the night with me at my place and we watched (500) Days of Summer. Now we're chilling out and planning on going for brunch and shopping, woo, girls' day! Last night my brother expressed an interest in staying with me for a night so we could "catch up", and this was my face: o.O Maybe he's actually growing up? Wacky. (He's a freshman in college.)

bunnymcfoo is once again organizing a true holiday miracle - she's raising funds to buy warm winter clothing for the kids at a local shelter. Her generosity and warmth blow my mind, and last time this was a rousing success, so let's make it so again! You can read about the project and donate here. Every little bit helps!
Secondly, DEATHLY HALLOWS TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I don't think about HP for a while, then the hype for the new movie or book starts and I'm like OMG OMG OMG OMG EEEEEEE. Those of you who have been around know that my heart belongs to Harry/Hermione and Remus/Sirius (the former mostly as best friends until the end of the earth, the latter as tragic doomed true love OTP OTP OTPPPP), and so I have pretty much no problem with the fact that the coverage of the movies seem to be like LOOK AT DAN AND EMMA BEING CUTE. :DDD I adooore them omg. Go watch the trailer! Revel in its TOTAL AWESOME! I am seriously super pumped. I think I should read the book again. I never reread it! I was just... overwhelmed. But god it was good.

I suppose if it wasn't spring break and I was at school, everyone would be getting PLASTERED tonight. I'm grateful that I'm not, LOL.
However! Next year? Uhm. I'm going to be in DUBLIN. For ST. PATRICK'S DAY. *gulp* Hopefully by then I'll have friends to hold my hand! Or I might be an alcoholic at that point, who knows! *laughs* Either way it's going to be QUITE the experience. My goodness.
I also just realized that I happened to, completely by chance, wear my Boondock Saints t-shirt today. Yay for me! \o/
I get my car back today! I think I forgot to update you all on that - it turned out my clutch burned out and I had to get a new one :-/ It cost... uhm, a lot. I feel really bad *hides face* But the good news that I am getting it back today and I will be able to drive myself and Michelle back to school tomorrow. (Tomorrow! meep! I don't want break to be over! *whines*) So yes. I have survived my very first car drama. With a boatload of help from my parents of course >.< Ah the joys of growing up!

It's 1 AM and I got back from my school's production of The Vagina Monologues 30 minutes ago. It was AWESOME, again. They get some fabulous actresses to take part :) By turns hilarious, moving, and horrifying, it was a great performance. One girl wrote her own monologue for it, and it was about how she was sexually abused when she was seven, and the need for women to not be silent about abuse. That got me in the gut. It was very eloquent and painful. There was lots of really great material - it was wonderful. If you ever get the chance to see a performance, I definitely recommend it.
It perhaps says something about me that when they said "Pittsburgh LOVES vaginas!" I looked at Michelle and burst out laughing. (You will only get that if you know Queer as Folk. But if you do, HEE.)
And now of course I'm about to read some gay porn! Cock FTW! *facepalm* I fail at being a girl. Hee.

There are many and sundry of you whom I need to shower love upon personally, but that will have to wait until this evening. But for now, I just want to say, that I am so grateful for you all, for this community I belong to. Without you I don't know how I would make it! You are all so joyous and fun and kind and generous and sweet and lovely and my life is far better with you in it. Thank you for being extremely awesomesauce. ♥♥♥♥♥
(On an unrelated note, my orgo teacher is CRUEL. I get an email from him a few minutes ago titled "class" and I'm like EEEEE NO CLASS!! but of course it says 'Yes. Class at 8:00.' *cries*)
