I just caught P.S. I Love You on TV and I am a sobbing mess. It has IRELAND! And IRISH PEOPLE! That's of course not why I'm a wreck but I think it helped the whole movie have a bigger impact on me.

Jeffrey Dean is so sparkly and wonderful! His Irish accent is faintly hilarious, but it actually really wasn't that bad. I think he was perfectly cast as the guy with the guitar that makes all the girls' jaws hit the floor, cause HI MINE DID TOO. I could just curl up in his dimples forever, hee. Jeffrey Deeeeeen <3 And! And! He was playing guitar in WHELAN'S, which was literally down the street from my apartment in Dublin, and where I saw one of the best concerts of my short life (Tom McRae! <3333).

Gerard Butler was so dashing and charming and wonderful and gorgeous and OH how I wish to be swept off my feet like an Irish lad like that. Basically this whole movie made me want to marry an Irish boy and live with him in Ireland. Shocker!

But I think the reason I cared so much was Hilary Swank. She is just such a warm and sympathetic presence. When she broke down, *I* broke down, like full on sobbing right along with her. I just can't help but feel what she's feeling! Such a lovely actress. Kathy Bates was marvelous as her rather damaged mother who tries so hard to care for her little girl but has difficulty because of her own issues. Harry Connick Jr. was endearing and sweet as well. And James Marsters was in it for like, five minutes, but he was James Marsters!! <333 I also loved Lisa Kudlow, she's so lovely.

Basically I loved it a whole whole lot! All the shots of the rolling Irish hills made my heart go clenchy, and if the concept was slightly cheesy, they carried it off with lovely aplomb. I really empathized with Hilary Swank's emotional journey, and that's all I really ask out of a movie like this. I'm glad I randomly caught it!

Hey guys, guess what? I get to be in Ireland in THREE DAYS. Eeeeeee!!

(Next up on HBO: The Perfect Storm! George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, om nom! I wish I had HBO all the time, haha.)

Christ, I hate college students. :-/ I had to venture out of my apartment three times to do my laundry this evening, and there's loud music pounding from at least three separate apartments. I had to tiptoe gingerly around empty beer cans and puddles of beer, open doors to buildings for people carrying more alcohol, and run into a very obviously drunk dude (who was in my 20th C Lit class sophomore year). Also, the other buildings smell like ASS. I got so lucky with my neighbors. I feel like an old women, but yeah. HATE. >:(

Instead of partying, I watched Dollhouse episode four with Rob. I KIND OF LOVED IT OKAY. Cut for spoilerishness )

I am successfully hooked, I must say! Phew. Now I just hope Fox gives it an adequate chance to fully come into its own!

I also saw WATCHMEN!!!!!!!! Love love love. )

Also, Desolation Row on theater speakers is ORGASMIC. Unf unf.

ETA: So it turns out the guy who plays Adrian/Ozymandias, Matthew Goode, is deeply and fabulously BRITISH and HILARIOUS and I LOVE HIM. :D

After Watchmen, I went to the mall by myself. I just wanted some black flats and a hoodie! I struck out on the former, and I have decided there is a world shortage in cute hoodies, because I went to like SIX STORES WTAF. It was IMPOSSIBLE to find a cute hoodie that didn't fit really weirdly. I went to Kohl's, H&M, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Hot Topic, Charlotte Russe, A MILLION PLACES. Noooo luck. Finally I went to Bonton, a department store. I found these gorgeous ones in the designer section but they were Lucky jeans and $90-130. D: I was very sad. Apparently only a lot of money can buy you a cute colored hoodie with nice patterns on it. So I wandered around that area more and finally found these soft pretty hoodies by another, less pretentious, designer. Sadly they didn't have any fun designs on them (I wanted something girly!) but they did have a lovely dark pink and they fit me beautifully. And only $25 on sale. But it was a less than satisfying conclusion to an EPIC journey, argh. I did on the other hand find a pair of soft, light, super comfy pajama pants for $6.40 on clearance. So that was nice.

Anyway, now I'm exhausted from walking around the mall for like 3 hours. And I have gotten nothing accomplished today, as usual! Tomorrow I have brunch at Ryan's, and then I'm in a concert in the afternoon. I suppose my paper/studying will happen at some point. *hands*

I now have 6 Doctor Who icons and almost no occasion to use one! Well here, I'm using one now. &ROSE;

I went to the first meeting of the Film Society (aka an excuse to watch movies) and we watched The Fall. What a luscious, intricate, fantastic, tragic and uplifting film. It stars Lee Pace, who is so beautiful I could just nom on him all day (EYELINER! Sleeveless bandit costume! Be still my HEART) and at the same time so raw and heartbreaking. He really did a brilliant job with the role. And the little girl was so sweet and precocious and innocent and full of heart. I was just captivated the entire time. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

And now I have to watch Pushing Daisies :D

Lala I should probably go accomplish something, since I haven't all weekend!
exsequar: ((TW) Barrowman thumbs up!)
So I have now seen the Summer Trifecta of Super Hero Movie Awesome, and I can say that without a doubt, my favorite of the three was The Incredible Hulk. I know, what? A bit of rambling about why. Very vaguely spoilery. )

So, in conclusion, Edward Norton get in my bed ASAP. <3333

Okay, so, since I saw this movie (SERENITY, ahhhh) I've gone grocery shopping, walked a mile and a half in the dark in a not-so-nice city, and sat in my friend's room for an hour. It's been fully 3 hours. AND I'M STILL HYPER. Seriously, on cloud nine. You all MUST see this movie. It's AMAZING.

On to my probably less-than-coherent thoughts. I'll try to keep them organized. If you haven't seen the movie, DO NOT LOOK UNDER HERE!!! PLEASE, it's for your own good! )

In conclusion, I really need a shirt that says "JOSS IS GOD". I'm totally seeing this again next weekend. I've ALREADY converted a friend, just tonight, after seeing Serenity! He agreed to watch the episode Serenity with me and now he's HOOKED. Sweet. I have another friend who's a Buffy fan, so I plan to convert him later this week, and we'll all go see it. YAY.

I really, really, REALLY hope this did well at the box office.

GO SEE SERENITY!!!!!!!!
