A strange request
Mar. 7th, 2007 09:25 pmSO! Here's where you come in. We're allowed to adopt someone else's ancestry to report to the class if ours is too boring. It's best if we can relate it to the topics we've been studying, which cover a broad range of themes throughout history, from colonization to the Chinese Exclusion Act, and everything in between. So I want you to tell me your stories! Do you have an interesting, colorful ancestry? I'd love if you would share it with me. Just a general picture, something that can be explained briefly and simply. I can leave your name unconnected with it if you prefer. You can either comment here, or email me at starlight1013@gmail.com. Either way, I might have some questions for you, and I'd like if you could answer them tonight, since it's... due tomorrow. Oops.
I'd really appreciate your help! A lot! Thanks in advance to anyone who replies! :)
I take it all back! I just talked to my daddy and my history is definitely interesting enough to fill four minutes, and it's best to go with my own story anyway, since I have more than a vague sense of it. Thank you so much to all you that replied! ♥

Jan. 31st, 2007 12:24 amOy, all you crazy Brits out there - question!
I'm filling out my Trinity application (OMG*squeeflail*sldkfjsldkfj) and it says there's a thing called a "Semester Start-up Programme" that lasts for FOUR WEEKS in September before the start of classes. Do any of you know what the heck that means/is/entails? (ETA: To clarify, it's optional. You can sign up for it or not as you choose.)
On a related note, the three terms at Trinity are called the Michaelmas, Hilary, and Trinity terms. Such pretty names! *loves*
(Can you tell I'm REALLY FUCKING EXCITED? Is it October yet???? Hee, I was asking that last year too, for Wincon! I guess Octobers agree with me! :D)

Dec. 10th, 2006 04:23 amFandom, I have a question for you.
Why isn't there any Jsquared GENFIC?? Yknow, stories about the boys being BOYS. Hanging out, pranking, goofing off on set, getting drunk, playing video games... yknow. MANLY stuff. Without all the fucking. Ya'll know I'm all for the fucking, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's just fun to think about them without that complicating factor.
Also, GIP - I finally was able to make a few icons tonight, despite Photoshop being a total pain in my ASS, and this was my favorite. Oh, boys.
And it's 4:20 AM and I'm going to BED, yo. Jesus.

Dec. 8th, 2006 12:21 pmSo flist. Is there anyone out there who knows Latin pretty well? Well enough to translate a simple phrase?
This is why I need it. A little while ago, I was looking in a Latin glossary for possible words to use as a new LJ name. I stumbled on this one: exsequor. Do you know what it means? "to follow to the grave". YEP. Basically it's Dean and Sam in a nutshell. An awesomesauce nutshell.
So I might use just exsequor as the name, but I would like to see how this looks in Latin: "I will follow you to the grave". I've tried researching Latin conjugations, but dude that stuff is CRAZYCAKES o.O The closest I could come up with was "te exsequar" but I have no idea how accurate that is, and it isn't super pretty anyway. Does anyone know of a more elegant way of working that out? Thanks in advance! ♥

Nov. 30th, 2006 11:58 pm(To clarify, I havent seen it yet but I heard it's AWESOME LIEK WHOA. *gimmehands*)
Found it myself! *loves and devotes to self?* ANYwho, WINCHESTERFAN.COM. And yes, it is AWESOME.
((And it amuses me that I not only have an icon from an unaired ep, but two images in my HEADER. I hope this episode lives up to my skyhigh expectations!))

Nov. 29th, 2006 11:49 pmMy dear flist, some of you must watch Six Feet Under, right? I only recently remembered that Bravo was airing it, so I went to TiVo to set it up to record and found that I missed the whole first season and the second season is just starting. So, is it a good idea to start watching at the second season, or should I wait for some opportunity to watch the first season? If I won't be TOTALLY lost, re: characterizations and stuff, that'd be nice. If someone could just give me a nice succinct summary of the premise and the first season, I'd appreciate it :)
Also, does anyone have any Zeppelin they could upload? I've got Zeppelin III and I really like it :) In the immortal words of one Dean Winchester, ZEPPELIN RULES! *laughs*
I'm going to post my Christmas wish list, soon, I swear. Honestly.
Also, if you haven't read my Jsquared college AU ficlet, what are you waiting for? :D Thank you so much to everyone who's read and feedbacked! *hugs* More will be forthcoming at... some point!

A little help from my flist!
Aug. 8th, 2006 10:02 pmSo HOPEFULLY (*crosses fingers*) I will be getting my beautiful new Mac tomorrow, which also means I can finally put stuff on my iPod. The first thing I want to try is Supernatural (um, duh). I remember someone linked me to a free program for converting videos into iPod format, but I can't find a link again.
frayen, was it you? If anyone knows a program that I can use to do that, I'd appreciate a link! Thanks very much :)
