I love Shoebox!Remus and Sirius so much it makes my heart actually hurt. I just read the famous chapter 23 and a bit of 24 and I'm just flailing about. Puppies! Ohmyheart.

And now I'm going to get five hours of sleep. *facepalm*

I have started the column from hell and I want to cry. This is the same material that kept me here until 6:30, and it wasn't even pure after all that. I changed the solvent but it doesn't seem to be helping! WOE!

On the bright side, I seem to have fought off the incipient illness with OJ, multivitamins, and lots of water. Er. Maybe. Perhaps I speak too soon.

Oh my god Friday be OVER already.

On another bright side, SHOOOOOOOEBOX! I finally made myself an icon! *HEARTS* Puppies!!

I can't seem to force myself to go to bed without some kind of closure. It's weird, I know, but it's all part of my own sleep-depriving procrastination tactics. Sometimes it's watching that moment I'm obsessing over one more time; sometimes it's reading the perfect little ficlet that will send me to bed smiling; sometimes it's wrapping up a fun conversation with a friend. None of those seem to be working tonight, so I'm going to make a post!

I watched Ocean's 11 about two and a half times today. Once straight, once with commentary, and then again to make caps of Danny and Rusty, and also just to rewatch some of their glorious scenes from the beginning. That poker scene, with the TV star kids? Oh my god. PERFECTION!

Then tonight I watched most of Fight Club. Want to know something funny? The Playstation that functions as a DVD player in our living room wouldn't play Fight Club because of the parental settings on the system! LOL. It played Flags of our Fathers (a horrifying and perfectly done movie, by the way) but not Fight Club. How silly.

But anyway, I just. BRAD! *flails a little bit* There's nothing that can be said about Fight Club that hasn't already been said 80 billion times, but there are just so many perfect lines, perfect moments, and watching when you know the twist is actually really cool, because you pay attention to all the subtle clues leading up to it. What an awesome, awesome movie. And did I mention - BRAD! *bites knuckles*

I'm thinking about going to see OotP in IMAX when it comes out! It's playing 45 minutes away, which really isn't that bad, and it's 11 bucks, which is only 2 dollars more than the normal theater - and for OOTP, totally worth it. I watched some TV spots for the movie last night that I'd missed, and OH MY GOD. I can't WAAAAIT. Remus!!!!! He's looking so gorgeous, and his voice, his weary gravelly voice... meep. Moony!! And Sirius!!! Oh my puppies. This movie is gonna make me flail for joy and then KILL ME. I can't wait :D

I really, really love the name Danny. And not just because of Danny Ocean :P I'm thinking I'm pretty much set on naming a future son of mine Daniel, after my father's father, and we will definitely be calling him Danny. Aw. Yay :) I love the name because it's very cute for a young boy, but it can also work well for a respectable man, if he has the right self-confidence and comfort in himself. You know? I don't know what I'm rambling about. I just love it.

Ummmm. I went shopping with Fei today, it was fun :) I was very restrained and only bought a pair of jean capris and a pretty brown shirt to go with my gorgeous flowery skirt. She got everything she needed to (bathing suit, flats, jean skirt) and so all in all it was a very successful morning at the mall. Yay!

I updated my sidebar, to make it more current. Removed and added some icons, and in the interests section I took out a couple of old ones and inserted Danny and Rusty, the Taylors (FNL), John and Aeryn, and made a new one for Rodney and John. Pretty people, whee!

Okay. That's enough of my ramblings. Off I go to bed, a half hour later than I intended! Pretty damn good! \o/

Here, have a dash of Danny n Rusty. Pretty, ain't they? ♥ Look at how they're looking at each other! This, my friends, is why the poker scene is my favorite.

Eyefuckery ahoy! )

Night night!

HI FLIST!

I am bouncy and perky and WHEE. And it's Valentine's Day! This is a totally and utterly unprecedented occasion.

FIRST of all, Rach wrote me fic!! Beautiful, schmoopy puppy fic!! Typically Perfect - Remus/Sirius - PG-13 I love it and I love her!!! *snuggles her to death*

And secondly, I just had an awesome day. It was long and tiring and jam packed, but FUN. I'm thinking that Professor Nesteruk, and all the authors we're reading for Pursuit of Happiness, are right - you're only really happy when you DO things, when you're with people and getting things done and having a blast at the same time. Here's what I did today:

  • 9:00 AM - Linear Algebra. A bit boring and I was half asleep. My awesome day had not started yet.
  • 10:30 AM - Pursuit of Happiness. Better! We take these quiz things from a book we're reading. In the past we've done Optimism tests and the like. I usually score as uber pessimistic or negative or various bad things. But today we took a test that identify your signature strengths! Mine were Humor, Loving (and the ability to be loved), and Appreciation of Beauty. Which is just so me and it made me happy to know that appreciating things like music and film and nature and just everything around you is a STRENGTH. Awesome. Also, I love Jill. And Sean.
  • 12:00 PM - Meeting for prospective chemistry/biochemistry majors. Of which I am the latter. I learned some interesting things, the best being that they've NEVER had a chemistry major NOT get into graduate school. And usually the money is great, and mostly Top 40 schools. Um, future on a platter much? YES. So basically, score.
  • 1:30 - 4 PM - Work. Not so much with the awesome, as I was exhausted and falling asleep the whole time. But I got to listen to music, so that's always good.
  • 6:00 PM - SPEED DATING. I'll talk about this more in a bit.
  • 7:15 PM - choir. Which was fine, I was on a bit of a high from the speed dating so I wasn't half asleep and it was all good. Although I wasn't next to Sara or Jill *tear*
  • 9:00 PM - Selling MUDDY BUDDIES (best snack ever. AND I DIDNT GET TO HAVE ANY *pout*) door to door in my dorm with Sara to raise money for Oxfam. Some amusing moments, plus it's for a good cause! (Oxfam is a hunger organization, and we're raising money for this program by which 19 cents buys a lunch for a kid in a third world country. Pretty amazing.)
  • 10:30 PM - Vagina Monologues. Pretty much awesome. Hilarious and touching and poignant and powerful and empowering. WOW. If you ever get to chance to see it, I highly recommend it.

So that was pretty much the most ridiculously jam packed day, um, EVER. But that's what made it awesome! Pretty much all the evening things were voluntary, so that was great.

Speed Dating! Okay, I was petrified. I got that nasty squirmy feeling in my stomach beforehand. But it was GREAT. Just fun conversations with sweet guys. I didn't like fall madly head over heels for any of them or anything, but I just had a really good time! I think I have this apprehension about social situations, but I'm actually quite personable and really loosen up when it actually comes to talking to somebody. I laugh a lot. That might be scary. Ummm and also when I say I'm majoring in Biochem, people kinda raise their eyebrows and go "whoa". Haha. And the most common next question was "Uh... what do you plan to do with that?" and then I get to be all geeky and say I want to be in a lab for the rest of my life! Mwaha. It was all basics really, like where you come from, major, extracurriculars, etc etc. We only had five minutes, which usually felt like TWO. Honestly, the bell would ring and we would look up like huh??? And it was very disappointing. But that's a good sign!

It was interesting because I knew pretty much all of the faces of these guys, I see them around a lot - two of them are even in my chem class. But I didn't know barely any of their names, and had never spoken to them! So it was great to put a personality to the face finally. We coerced PJ into doing it, and I had a great time talking to him. He's so shy and bashful and I just love getting him to laugh and talk. I may have a wee crush on him. Shhh. Louis was there too, and he is always a hoot. We starting geeking it up about Star Wars and LotR, schweet. And Matt was there, who I had lunch with through mutual friends a couple times, and he's just a really cool guy. And let's see, I'm trying to remember all their names for future reference... Keenan, David, Sergio, Manny, uhhh... Crys... hmm. I know there's a couple I'm missing. Oh well.

So I marked down the ones I liked (pretty much all of them!) and I think I get an email if any of them marked me down too. So we'll see if I do!

You may notice that there was no mention of Supernatural anywhere in there. And it's Tuesday! BLASPHEMY! I didn't get to watch because I was selling Muddy Buddies with Sara. But I hear it was awesome and incestuous! Which rocks my socks. It's downloading from a torrent right now, but mostly because I just need to have some indication that I'm getting sort of close to watching it, but I'll probably download it from... another source tomorrow. Which will be much faster.

Anyway. I LOVE THE WORLD AND I LOVE YOU ALL. MWWWWWAH!

OMGOMGOMGOMGYAY (I felt I needed to elaborate on the title)

THEY'RE LEAVING SNAPE'S WORST MEMORY IN OOTP!!!

    Know what this means?

MOONY AND PADFOOT cOME TO LIFE!!! And Prongs and Wormtail of course. And by this I mean as their beautiful Marauder-era selves. 'cause OMGYAY. All I can say is Sirius better be hot, yo, and there better be lots of longing glances between Moony and Pads! :D:D:D

    SO excited. Eeeeee!

I wonder if they'll get Snape right? Hmmmm. Should be interesting.

I'm doing a small meme because I like to procrastinate on going to bed :)

    Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] _night_lily:

Pick 5 of your OTPs and then list which specific moment made them your OTP.

    My OTPs of OTPs )

Hmm, so that wasn't as hard as I would have thought! I really don't have that many actual OTPs. There are plenty of pairings that I enjoy, but these ones right here are the ones that are really in my heart. I've done a meme very similar to this one before, but with pictures... I think the list was basically the same, without Simon/River and with a couple other different ones on it. I'll link to it if I can find it! ETA: My OTP meme from June Um, it's actually so similar it's scary. In that one I have Dan/Emma, Ewan/Hayden, Mulder/Scully, and Brian/curt, and no Simon/River. But all the things I say are basically the same. Is that kind of sad? Hm.

ETA: I asked this in one of my first entries ever, but obviously not many people read my journal then.. so I'm asking again. Please give an answer if you have one, or any insight.: "I was wondering something. Where was Lupin during book four? You'd think that, having just been reunited with his best friend, and also realizing he was actually innocent, he would be with him. Regardless of whether they're in love or not. But Sirius does not mention Lupin in his letters, and Lupin's not there when they go to visit the cave. Lupin didn't even come to any of the tasks! So what's up? Did he just go off to live all lonely again, even though he's now got two beloved people potentially back in his life? I can't believe he detached himself so thoroughly from Harry and Sirius, the only remaining testaments to the beauty of the Marauders. If there's an obvious explanation that I'm overlooking, please tell me!
    "

    Two things.

One, here is an article that [livejournal.com profile] citizenjess linked to on her journal. It's about boykissing in movies (basically), and includes lovely quotes from Heath and Jake showing how they're awesome and fine with having to kiss another guy for a role, as opposed to actors in other films who have expressed disgust about it. It's very interesting and well worth a read for all us boykissing lovers (since pretty much all my flist is ^_^). Here: A Kiss is Just a Kiss

Two, [livejournal.com profile] nomeremuggle did this cool mutual challenge ficlet thingy, where people commented to her post, she gave them a challenge, they did it and then could challenge her to write something. The fics were around 50 to 200 words. So I jumped in headfirst and did it, even though I was terrified. I'm sharing both my ficlet and her response ^_^

Her challenge for me: Brian/Justin, 'lesson'
    My response... )

My challenge for her: Remus/Sirius, 'bruises'
    Her very sweet response... )
