Mmmmm turkey. Mmmmm pie.

I hope you all had nummy things too, and minimal family drama! ;) Happy Thanksgiving, loves. And happy Thursday, to those who don't celebrate!

I am thankful for this community and all of you loves. For my family and their unconditional support. For my bestests, Michelle and Rob, my Dublin girls and boys, and all my other lovely friends. For the opportunities I have had in my life and will continue to have. For stupid bands and their stupid faces <3 For Jeremy Moss keeping me sane.

I am NOT thankful for my analytical chemistry paper, but I am grateful that I do seem to be actually understanding the topic. \o?

Hearts hearts!

Home! \o/ It's really nice to be back with my family, although always a little disorienting, because they keep changing. My sister is now taller than me (she's 14! *hands*) and my brother shaved off his beautiful floppy hair :( It actually looks quite good though. But yeah, I haven't really seen my family since June, and then only a week, and before that only in December for a week, so. Needless to say I feel slightly disconnected from them. However, I will be home for a long time in December and do some serious sibling bonding, so that will be nice. This break will be more of the "Hi, I have to do a lot of work! Okay, bye!" kind of thing, I'm afraid. I started working on my analytical paper tonight and thankfully it seems pretty doable, whereas I was pretty scared of it before. So I just have to accomplish that, my cinema paper, and grad school app essays. Fun tiiimes.

I just finished watching one of the movies Jeremy gave me for break - Almodovar's Talk to Her. It was really something else. Extremely lush and beautiful, touching yet disturbing, but not overly sentimental. The tone was... very unique, almost like he was giving us the spaces between the important moments, at least in terms of emotional relationships. It was very compelling. Definitely one to ponder.

I'm trying to resist sending Jeremy an email about it. I think I can handle 5 days without talking to him, riiiight? :P (You all KNOW I have an obsessive personality though, right? If a shiny catches my eye, I want the shiny all the time. Generally this functions with TV shows and bands, which is not too problematic, but I haven't got a Jeremy I can press play on at will! Hee.) We have, in the past, been known to spend an hour on one movie, so when I come back having seen 4 movies he loves? Yeeeah. Lalala obligations what obligations? :)

Ummm what else what else. Well, since it's 1 AM, HAPPY TURKEY DAY, KIDS! I hope you all have a good day, even those who aren't crazy Americans. <3333

TRYING to do homework, because tomorrow is PANIC DAY and thus will be unavailable for homework endeavors! But failing to focus, because 1) ZOMG ELECTION IN THREE DAYS! *REFRESHES POLITICAL BLOGS LIKE FIEND* and 2) I had Colin text Dara to ask him to go online, and Dara was on a bus but said he'd be online in 40 minutes... 2 hours ago. This does not stop me from obsessively checking Gchat to see if he's on /o\

My Halloween was pretty faily. The frats at my school collectively threw the "biggest party in F&M history" in the school gym. They succeeded in beating 1000 people, or whatever they were aiming for, but the party itself was pretty lame. Sucky music, drunk idiots running around in stupid clothes, and pretty much no one I knew. I hung out with the same four people all night (four people I adore, don't get me wrong! But four people does not a party make) and ended up just running away to play Guitar Hero into the wee hours of the morning. Because my decision to attend said dumb party was last minute, I simply dressed as an emo kid - translation, wore my own clothes and piled on a shitload of eyeliner, with gratuitous tear track down my cheek. Yeah. The eyeliner actually looked awesome, let's not lie :D

Then I went to bed at 4 AM, and woke up around noon with a pounding headache and eyes displeased with this notion of staying open. However, I had had nothing to drink, and thus this was most confusing. Roommates both woke up with headaches too, with bonus sore throats. Uh oh? I'm hoping it's a false alarm!

What if Trinity doesn't work out? What if i actually don't like studying there? WHAT IF ALL MY FRIENDS FORGET ABOUT ME OMG? These are just some of my (semi-serious) worries that have been swirling through my head recently. If the funding doesn't work out, that means I'm stuck here looking for a job, which...... yeah. I'm also sad that I'll be missing out on most of Obama's first term :(

Tell me something to cheer me up, kids!

OH BTW, the new Supernatural was OMG AWESOME. &CASTIELLLL; I really love him lots and lots, you guys. Also &DEAN; and &SAM; of course. I love me some angst, fo REAL, and this week's satisfied me so hardcore in that department :D Can't wait for moar!

OMG PANIC BABIES TOMORROW.

OMG THREE DAYS.

Ok I'll stop spamming you and get back to my homework, rar.

Can we talk about how fucking adorable those Darlings at the Disco are? Because seriously. Zack Hall, please be my minder. ILU. And your infinite patience. Can we also talk about how watching Spencer Smith flail about on the floor trying to pretend he was swimming was the hottest thing ever, UNTIL five seconds later, when Brendon Urie did a standing backflip to Elton John? YEAH I DONT KNOW EITHER. <333333333 However, the Ladder vs. Windshield one is my FAVORITE, because, well, 1) ZACK. ILU. Solving the mystery! "We can tell CSI NOT to come. Unless they want to." 2) Zack hugging all of Hush Sound hello, UGH MY HEART! Darren is so miniscule next to him! And Greta is just engulfed! Daaaaarlings! 3) BRENDON URIE hugging all of the Hushies hello!!! The way he ruffles Chris's hair is THE MOST PRECIOUSEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN, OKAY. <3333333333333333 Heeeeee! And 4) GRETA. "We've just been shot at!" and Brendon, "FOR REAL??" Ahahahaha. Lovelovelovelove. The shenanigans those children must be getting up to on this tour! Moar backstage footage plz!

My sister got to go to the HCT show last night in Connecticut with my dad. She had SUCH a great time. It sounds like it was an awesome show. And my dad really enjoyed it! He said they're fantastic performers with a great sound, and he loves the three of our boys harmonizing, and yay. They were in the pit (i could have sworn there were no seating tickets on sale when I got the presale tickets! Is that because GA is considered better? I'm sure my dad would have appreciated sitting down >.<) and had a great view. I wish I could have been there with them! Ah well, it will happen at some point, me and my sis will totally become concert buddies (love you, Mere! <3) when Panic returns to the states and MCR stops rolling in their wedded bliss :P

Next let's talk about how EXCITED I am for the new X-Files movie. LKSDFLSDKJF. It's going to be amaaaaaazing, you guys. Mulder and Scully are 100% the original OTP of my heart, and I cannot express the glee it gives me to have new canon coming. YAY YAY YAY. The viral promo thingies are FANTASTIC (see them over at [livejournal.com profile] xfiles) but I can't seem to get the trailer to work for me! WANTS *grabbyhands*

I called my mommy to wish her Happy Mother's Day tonight. She was most pleased by the edible flower arrangement (read: shaped fruit, some of it chocolate covered, nom nom nom) that I sent over, so yay. We had a nice long chat, it's nice to have grown out of the at-war-with-mom teenage phase! (Unlike my rooommate, who cannot talk to her mom for 5 seconds without getting in a fight >.<) At the end she handed the phone to my brother and I ended up talking to him for half an hour. I forget how fond I am of him sometimes! He's 17 and clearly can be quite the pain in the ass, but as I've taken the stick out of my ass, and he's matured a bit, we're much more able to have real conversations. He's so funny and smart, when he's not an asshole we get along great. My mom told me the story about how he completely out of the blue won the position of vice president in his high school's student council, haha! He tied for second in the first round of voting, then they had to write speeches, and his speech was so awesome that he won! I'm not super surprised, because he's extremely eloquent, charismatic, and a great writer, but still, how cool. Now... he just has to pass junior year. Which is actually quite up in the air :-/ His teachers RAVE about how brilliant he is, how he leads class discussions and has the brightest mind, but... he doesn't do his work. Oh Pete. He's so frustrating, but such a great kid. I'm sure he'll come out on top eventually.

This is still on time in the states, so HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY to all the lovely moms on my flist! Off the top of my head, [livejournal.com profile] keepaofthecheez, [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c, [livejournal.com profile] adellyna, and I'm probably forgetting someone or not aware, but um. Yes! You are all lovely ladies and I admire you so much for what you do! I hope you all had fantastic days :)

That's all for now. The hardcore week of studying has begun, so while I'm probably getting my laptop back in the next couple days, I'm still going to be relatively MIA. Love you all! <3

Hi eljay! Io'm in bed with [livejournal.com profile] nebulein and she putp a tequila shot in me and german beer and a blu elagoon ccoktal so i'm pretty drunk and i'm typing while lying on my back so apologies for incohenrece. We've been having so much fun - i met her boyfriend, and we went out (obviously) to Captain Cooks (haha palm tres) and had a lovely tiem. WE've been watching queer as folk and enjoying it very much. DID YOU KNOW I LOVE BRIAN KINNEYY??????? Cause I do, al ot a lot. :D

Paying an obscene amount of money for half an hour of internet at Gatwick airport because my flight is delayed a WHOLE HOUR. This means that I'm going to be arriving in Dublin at ELEVEN. Fucking fuck. I have class tomorrow at some point, I have no idea when and won't know until I get home! Scratch that, I got my roommate to check and I don't have class til 11, yay. But still. Stupid Ryanair :( I suppose this is what you get when you pay 30 pounds for a plane ticket, hmmm? *facepalm*

My screen keeps flopping backwards and it is PISSING ME OFF. >.< This is just not my night. But luckily I haven't had a bad day in almost three weeks so I'm plenty level headed enough to deal with this. It's just annoying :(

To be honest, I mostly bought this half hour of internet because I was reading the LAST CHAPTER of [livejournal.com profile] harriet_vane's brilliant kidfic, and I had forgotten to load up a tab with the second HALF of the last chapter, so I was left hanging! And I just couldn't have that, so I shelled out cold hard cash to get the last bit of it. I'M JUST THAT IN LOVE, OKAY. With silly wonderful Brendon, spastic wonderful tiny!Gee, awesome fabulous Brian, and EVERYONE. <33333

Sigh! Ah well. My vacation has been fantastic, I couldn't have asked for any better, so a little hiccup at the end is no big deal. It could have been much worse! In conclusion, Mikeyway.

Way down!

Here is your moment of sheer and utter joy for the evening.

In the middle of performing Cemetery Drive, while Gerard is singing the line "way down" repeatedly.... Mikey Way falls over. WAY DOWN!!!! You seriously can't make this shit up, hahaha. He just topples over! And then Frank runs over to him and presses their foreheads together affectionately like oh, you darling idiot, and Gee comes over to check on him too, and OH THEM. <333333

I would use one of my myriad darling Mikey icons, but instead I'll use this because it's shiny and new and I LUFF THEM. Precious giggly boys!! *sigh* I'm so easy, you guys. Tight pants! Eyeliner! Sidesplitting humor! I'm so fucking gone.

Tonight I watched episodes of QI and Top Gear, both British shows, both hilarious. Stephen Fry! Alan Davies! Hammond! All hilarious, all wonderful, and I love British humor the end. (ALSO I WANT A JAGUAR XK8 OH GOD. I MEAN JUST LOOK:

IT'S SEX ON WHEELS. Ask Robin and Mel and Jules. The noise I made was embarassing.)

Also I heard that there were maybe some Panic! in the Studio pictures? And maaaaybe some guy named Patrick on some procedural show? MAYBE? Oh flist <3

I am verreh tired. Goodnight. ♥
exsequar: ((TW) Barrowman thumbs up!)
So I have left my beautiful [livejournal.com profile] the5thmarauder, sadly. We had a brilliant time, I'm so so so glad we finally got to hang out, after knowing each other for many years! Hopefully she'll be able to make it over to Dublin before I depart for the States. I saw the lovely Cardiff and got Rach into Mikeyway and Timmy Riggins, and she introduced me to Noel and Russell, and basically there was much joy and love. \o/ Rach is made of ridiculous amounts of awesome, and I only bemoan that we cannot fangirl together ALL THE TIME. Love you, bb ♥

My sad parting from her was made less sad by the fact that I now have a ROBIN AND A MEL AND A JULES. You guys, fangirls are the best. We got to Robin's house and started watching this year's Big Fat Quiz, squeeing and laughing and awwwing over Noel and Russell because they are darling. We had also picked up alcohol on the way home and I ended up getting, um, really drunk on Magners, vodka and lemonade, and peach Archers Aqua schnapps. Oh my god. It smelled like PEACHIE-O's, and tasted only a little less fantastic, and was pretty much delicious. Robin and I finished off the entire bottle rather too fast. I can't remember the last time I was that drunk, it was pretty fabulous. Robin and I passed out in the middle of Atlantis, much to Mel's disappointment, and we stumbled up to bed shortly after, getting to sleep around 12:30, it was kind of insane. So much fun, and a most auspicious beginning to our days together. Then, this morning, we picked up a [livejournal.com profile] schneestern at Heathrow, and our fangirl harem is complete! :D Much good times are going to ensue, I can tell.

In fandom news... NEW PANIC! SONG. It's adorable, IMO. Cheesy and ridiculous but ADORABLE. I heart their stupid little faces. And wow, Abbey Road Studios? That's amazing, I'm so proud of them. I can't wait for this damn album!

Cobra's new video is so clever and brilliant and hilarious, just like them. Oh, Cobras <333

But my favorite bit of fandom news is OMG NEW TORCHWOOD TRAILER!!!!! A whole minute long and and and Spoilers, but TRUST ME YOU WANT TO KNOW. ) Is it Jan 16th yet?????? Eeeeee.

Also, new Atlantis on Friday! YAYE.

I love fandom and fangirls, you guys. I'm so full of squishy glee right now. LOVE YOU ALL! <33333

So 2007 has certainly been an eventful year for me. A little recap, for my own record more than anything )

Well that's that! I think overall I'll put this year decidedly in the plus column, though I have a couple times gotten more stressed than I ever have in my life. The good far more than makes up for the bad though, and I think I am overall a far more mature person than I was at the start of the year.

As for 2008, I know two things: I get to spend half of it living in Dublin, and it is the year we finally get rid of Bush. So, here's to 2008! Happy New Year's, my loves! I hope you all ring it in with style :)

Hallo darlings! The radio silence from me is because I've been having a marvelous time with [livejournal.com profile] the5thmarauder, exploring Cardiff, seeing all the places Torchwood has filmed (the "in these stones" building is gorgeous! and Ianto's office is a grungy little hole in the wall), playing Zelda: Crossbow Training on the Wii with her parentals, and watching many many forms of media. Rachael is now thoroughly head over heels for Mikey and company, and she's also already addicted to Friday Night Lights, which, duh :D I really am having the best time. Her parents are so sweet, and her mom is just so kind and generous and helpful and I feel like a princess, honestly! I try to help her out and she just waves me off, hee. We're currently listening to The Black Parade while Ray works on her Zombie Survival Guide for her graphics class, which is AWESOME. Her little zombies are so CUTE! Today we went to Penarth Pier, which was beautiful.

I'm super super glad I decided to do this for my vacation - it beats the hell out of sitting around in Dublin! (Hahahaha... I can't believe I just said that) Fangirls are seriously, SERIOUSLY ftw, you guys. I wish I had them all the time. Hey, we should start a commune! Y/Y???

I have managed to keep up with my flist though. The Cobra reality show on MTV.com is hilarious, no fucking lie, ahahahaha. MPREG! You're not asian!!! No YOU'RE fat! There isn't a car here, you realize that right? Gabe, we're voting you out. AHAHAHA. COBRAAAAAS. Panic! at the Prom is endlessly precious, as is the newer Bden and Ryro bits in Cosmo girl - Brendon's looking for his Jasmine! AWWWW. Though let's be honest, it's more like, I don't know, Brian looking for his Justin. *g* But hey, I was Jasmine for Halloween when I was a kid! Pick me, Bden, pick me! :D

I am deeply excited for the next few days, as we're going to get the City is at War video (HURRAH!) and HOPEFULLY something out of those teasing Panic! children, if the website is to be believed! Yaye!

Does anyone know what the status is on the supposed video for Mama, that Gerard is supposed to direct? I know Frankie's in New Jersey right now, and they've got the South America tour in... February. So is the video going to happen some time in there? I hope so - I really wanna see what Gee comes up with!

Well Ray and I are off to watch more FNL, I believe! Catch you on the flipside!
